Just like in the human world, for the supernatural, nature had been the only source of connection to their planet, and without a doubt it was the most stunning piece of art that existed. Unlike the human world, however, nature was controlled by its own species, which kept it intact and humble as it should be. The Yolegs were known to be as grounded as the soil upon which they walked, though the truth was perhaps not all that. As gentle and generous as they were, some held a sense of evil that from time to time was capable of emerging, and their ways had been most different to how most people on the planet had behaved. Kindness and empathy was instilled within their personality, of course, though behind the layers of the facade lay a need to ensure that all of society was as connected to each other as they were to nature. It was a habit that had ensured that most remained distant from their kind, despite them not being a real threat. Though their mannerisms had raised quite a few questions, and it was only a matter of time before the pair realised that.
They had departed for their journey at daylight, ready to conquer yet another species, hoping that the best would come from it. As they ventured across Tetran lands, they had begun to realise just how much they missed their life back on their own territory, and how they craved to return to the actual duties and responsibilities that were their own. The fight for the greater good had tired them out, and as much distance as they had left to conquer, the hope had slowly been eating them away in the form of exhaustion. Having not a clue what to expect, the couple approached the lands that had quickly granted them entry, and noticed immediately the differences with which the Yolegs lived with. If the pair had thought that poverty only existed on Gloarian, they were wrong, and noticing the rows of shacks within the land of nature lovers, they realised that the Yolegs were certainly big time hippies. It was a sight they had never seen before, not even on Gloarian on Centaur lands, and so the pair only wondered how people functioned on the most minimal of aspects.
Trekking inside the guardless gates, they glanced around, getting the same looks from people around that they had everywhere on Tetra upon the realisation that they were Ivory, though they managed to continue til they concluded that they were officially lost. With no grand house or shack in sight that informed them that a leader lived there, the pair had come to a halt in the very middle of the territory, not knowing where to go or what to do. It wasn’t until the leader of Yolegs came to stand right behind the pair, and release a cough to announce his entrance that the worry faded off their faces, and they proceeded to move forward with their plans.
Ozak Ingor, the master of Yolegs, had heard the whispers of their arrival jump around from tree to tree until the news reached his ears, and had made his way where the leaves had directed him until he stood behind them. With a polite smile on his face, he bowed his head as a sign of respect despite their status, and that already was an improvement from what they had already experienced.
‘Alpha Solonov, Luna Genova, welcome to the land of the Yolegs. I am Ozak Ingor, master of the Yolegs. Please follow me so we can talk in private’ he introduced, leading the pair towards the deep ends of the forest. Naturally the Yolegs had inherited the greater lands of the forest of Tetra, seeing that they were the only ones that could control it, though it had still managed to surprise the pair just how much of nature they had. Waterfalls, lakes, forest and volcanic grounds, it had all belonged to the nature lovers, and they had all that they needed. Ozak led the pair near a small lake, and stopped nearby, offering the pair large rocks as seats, and taking a seat on the ground himself. They needed not an office when nature had been their home, and as boggling as the concept was for the professional pair, they had accepted it silently. ‘I’m sure you’ve already noticed the clear differences around here, I hope you don’t mind them’ began the humble man, keeping his tone low. It had been a fresh sight for the couple that had only been experiencing hardships and prejudices since the moment they arrived, and they certainly hoped that it would ease the task they had come for.
‘Not at all, it’s quite refreshing, actually. Thank you for agreeing to meet with us on such short notice’ began Eliana, feeling odd not unleashing her beast upon a leader for once. The man’s eyes had fixated on Eliana, and immediately he had noticed the similarities between him and her that to others would not have been evident.
‘Of course, you have travelled a long way, Miss Genova. Tell me, what is it that you have come for?’ He began, initiating the meeting in a way that was new for the pair. Noticing his strong focus on his mate, Razaar decided to step in, shifting the attention to himself.
‘We are here to discuss a matter of importance for the planet’ he commenced, earning the vision of the master, though not the attention. It was at this point that the couple would realise the oddities that lay within the Yolegs, and it would become evident that it was trouble for the pair that had only just begun their relationship after crossing several hardships already. Though just as things had been about to get stronger in the personal lives of the couple, something or the other had a way of interrupting, as always. Despite the flame’s love for them, it was a process that was necessary, however, to ensure that they would survive anything and everything. Having already conquered death, the challenges of the Yolegs would be the next things to conquer. ‘The Vermillion have planned to destroy the hierarchy by annihilating us all, we are recruiting an army to fight against them in a large war and eliminate them, and that is why we are here. We need your collaboration to take down the strongest 6 of Vermillion, who are currently unaware of what we are doing. So far every other species on this planet has agreed, yours is the last word’ revealed the Alpha, obviously getting no reaction from the man who was a bit too down to earth. He simply nodded gently, intaking the content that had been distributed to him.
‘As rude as this may seem, I must ask, do you have any proof?’ He requested, much like any other leader on their planet. Eliana had been ready for the question, and wordlessly displayed the prophecy to the man, proving her point without words. The images had startled him, though he masked his expression, and analysed the severity of the situation. Unlike most leaders, this master cared not about the immortality within the pair, the only thing he cared for was the nature that would be harshly punished by a war it did not deserve. Though what other choice did he have? ‘Wars are the destruction of the planet’ he began, bringing Eliana to roll her eyes discreetly. It had been enough of a sign that this would be harder than they thought despite the gentle nature of their kind, though she waited for everything to be out in the open before jumping to conclusions. ‘However, if what you say is true, then the Vermillion will attack either way, and we will have no choice but to defend ourselves. The Yolegs have a responsibility to maintain the planet and its nature, and we will not let it falter.’ He continued, stirring hope within their chests. Though as simple as the task seemed, the challenge was yet to be unveiled.
‘So you will join us?’ Asked Eliana, clinging onto hope that this would be over sooner than anyone else so they could exit their territory the very day and move to the Warmecks, who had already indirectly agreed, as per their nature.
‘We will’ the words had brought joy to the pair, who looked between each other with a smile, before the man continued ‘though we have our conditions’ he added, turning heads.
‘What are your conditions?’ Posed Razaar, waiting impatiently for the unmasking of the challenge. The man looked wearily between the pair, though his eyes mostly on Eliana, not being able to pull them off the woman blessed with the power of water, much like the master himself.
‘Has there ever been a time where you’ve been able to handle the elements?’ Asked the man, bringing up memories for the pair who instantly had their minds darting towards the brief few times where the unexpected had happened involving fire and water. Perhaps it was time they received their answers, and they sure hoped the nature controllers would be able to help them with it.
‘We have, why do you ask?’ Brought up Eliana, looking with confusion at a master that a deal they would not be able to resist.
‘Most people on the planet do not know this, but the Yolegs don’t all have the power to control all elements of nature at once. We only get gifted with one element, and no one has the power to control more than that. We can sense each other’s aura’s to tell what element each controls, that’s how it works. When you both stepped foot into my territory I sensed your aura’s and it had surprised me at first. Though after watching the prophecy it is obvious that the flame has greater plans for the two of you, and so has instilled a part of us within you. Miss Genova, much like me you control the element of water. Mr Solonov, you-’
‘Have the gift of fire’ interrupted a voice from behind, causing all heads to turn over. A slim female figure stood smirking by the corner of a tree, and she walked stylishly towards the pair, letting her hands caress the back of Razaar’s back as she went to sit next to the master. The action had been an immediate red flag for Eliana, who took a dislike to the woman instantly. She had suppressed her growl, though looked at the woman with a glare, whoever she was.
‘Forgive me, this is my sister, Lyra Ingor. Her element, much like Mr Solonov’s is fire’ he revealed. Her action had seemed odd to the Alpha himself, who had no intention of stirring away from his mate, though the powers of the Yolegs had been strong, and who knew what this new discovery would do for them.
Lyra had fixated her yes on the Alpha, despite knowing that his mate sat right next to him. The very sight had been a distraction for the leader that for once actually felt a certain jealousy stir up within her. The feeling had never emerged, not with Eiva or Selina, and despite knowing Razaar’s loyalties for her she felt the oddest sense of hatred towards the woman that ogled her mate shamelessly.
‘You seem very kind, Miss Ingor, but if you could kindly keep your eyes off my mate, that would be appreciated’ spat the woman without thinking, and in the heat of the moment she certainly had not regretted it. Shock had been evident on Razaar’s face, who could only smirk at the image of his jealous mate, and he took full advantage in enjoying the moment he never thought he would see.
Lyra, on the other hand, had yet to falter her smirk, if anything she watched the leader with even larger of a smirk.
‘Don’t worry, Miss Genova, as handsome as your mate is, I won’t take him from you’ she responded, erupting a fire of rage within the woman now. Ozak, noticing the tensions, decided to intervene before any fights would kick off.
‘Forgive me, Miss Genova, my sister is only joking. She’s quite social, don’t mind her, and she’s still waiting for her mate’ he mentioned, giving his sister a stern look as she shrugged. Though the words haunted Eliana to the very core and she would not terminate the conversation before putting her point across.
‘She won’t have a mate to wait for if she gets in the way, Mr Ingor. As polite as you have been, be warned, if she tries anything of mischief I will not hesitate to end her life’ revealed the leader, earning a loud laugh from the deranged woman.
‘Feisty’ commented Lyra, shutting her trap from any further comments at the threat made against her. Though it was in the blood of the woman to enrage people, even members of her kind, and despite everything she would now do everything in her power to seduce the man she had taken a liking to. The Alpha noticed his mate’s discomfort and before things could escalate, or Ozak could respond to the open threat, he moved closer to his mate, seating her on his lap on the same rock and facing the pair of siblings out of which one was in complete shock and embarrassment, and the other contently twirled her hair around in her hands shamelessly.
‘Forgive me too, Mr Ingor, none of that will happen, my mate is just...protective. Shall we continue with the conditions you were mentioning?’ He diverted, doing his best to lighten up the mood. Eliana had not appreciated the diversion, though had realised that she had done the same on several occasions when it was her mate who felt the same way, and decided that this time it was her turn to be the jealous one. Despite the other woman that had freely devoured her mate in sight, and tried their best to engage with an already taken man, neither had ever initiated physical approaches on her man, and that was a barrier she would not let anyone cross, especially knowing it was one she had to complete with her mate herself. Nevertheless, she kept silent, keeping an eye on a shamelessly smirking Lyra who had yet to avert eyes from the pair, in particular, Razaar.
Ozak reluctantly nodded, pushing the thought aside and making a mental note to talk to his sister before proceeding with his ideas.
‘Right, if you two decide to train your abilities with us, we will join the war’ he announced, grasping Eliana’s ears instantly. The thought of having to stay around the woman who could, at any moment, get closer to her mate had bothered her to the core, though she trusted that Razaar would do anything and everything to keep her away. As lenient as she was to accept the deal, the words refused to come out of her mouth as she waited for him to agree without that deal.
The Alpha had decided to take control, and despite noticing his mate’s discomfort, knew it was the only way to get the Yolegs on board, and control the powers that lay within them.
‘We agree to your terms, Mr Ingor. How long will the training be?’ Asked the man for the sake of his mate, who was still seeing red.
‘As long as it needs to be till the pair of you are ready’ spoke the man, noticing the gals his sister was still getting. Perhaps the idea was not the best considering his own sister was a troublemaker, still he proceeded, keeping nature at the top of his priorities. If he could guarantee that the immortal couple could keep nature intact should anything happen to the rest, he was willing to take the risks.
‘Can I just ask, Mr Ingor, why do you want us to train with you?’ The Hybrid leader brought up, curiously enough. Her eyes had left the woman and now focused back on Ozak, her body calming down by the touch her mate was providing her with.
‘We are nature controllers, Miss Genova. Should anything happen to us, we will need someone who is capable of taking care of this planet’s nature. By the looks of the prophecy, you are immortal, so I only wish to hand down the duty to someone who will make it out to the other and will be able to to take over if things go south’ the revelation of Eliana’s immortality had hit the seductive sister who for once, lessened her smirk, and thought twice about what she was going to do. Though it hadn’t been enough reason to stay away from the Alpha, and so it would be.
‘How will this training work?’ Asked Razaar as his mate processed the information that Ozak had revealed.
‘My sister and I are trained the best on the elements you have, so we will train you starting tomorrow. We will start off by getting you connected to nature, allowing you to unlock that side of you whenever necessary. From there we will work on controlling it, and finally understand how that control will be useful in maintaining nature’ he concluded, though one question still lingered at the back of Eliana’s mind that she deserved an answer for.
‘Do you have any idea why my mate and I possess these powers to begin with? We’re just normal members of Ivory, a Wolf and a Hybrid, how are we capable of obtaining powers that are not within any other members of our kind?’ Her questions brought a smile on Ozak’s face as he thought of the order of the flame.
‘Why are you immorta,l Miss Genova? One should not question these choices, they simply are the order of the flame. The flame clearly has something great in mind for the two of you, and this is his way of showing it. Whether you like it or not, you were born to end this war, that is why you possess these abilities. You are the chosen ones’ he enlightened, easing the tension that lay in the air. Razaar looked up at his mate, who had been lost in thought at the words, and knowing she would probably want to be left alone with her mate, he turned back to respond to the spiritual man.
‘Thank you, Mr Ingor, this has been a useful input. If you wouldn’t mind showing my mate and I to a place where we could rest for the night before we start training, that would be great’ he enquired, watching sparks light up in the woman who had been waiting for an opportunity to speak to the Alpha.
‘Of course, I can show you’ she uttered, though before the Hybrid leader could react, Ozak intervened.
‘Actually, I will lead you and your mate to our guest house’ he responded, guiding the pair towards the rest of civilization, keeping his sister strictly in front of him. He had disagreed with the attitude of his own sister, though waited till they were in private to reveal his thoughts to her. Eliana stood close to her mate, grasping onto his hand tightly as they travelled back from where they came from, and Ozak led them to an empty shack where they could rest. ‘I hope this will be enough’ said Ozak politely, earning a nod from the pair.
‘It is, thank you Mr Ingor’ responded the Alpha, equally as politely.
‘Of course, please, call me Ozak’ he responded, turning around to leave. Lyra lurked around for just a mere extra minute, turning to the pair, particularly to Razaar.
‘Let me know if you need anything at all’ she spoke with a smirk, and with a final wink, was off in the opposite direction. The Hybrid leader's clenched fists said it all, and her mate pushed her inside the shack, closing the door before attacking her lips with his own. He had taken advantage of the situation and she most certainly didn’t hold back, embracing it with a fiery passion she had never felt before.
‘I must say, I’m amazed at the incredible turn of events’ he muttered after they had parted. Eliana breathed heavily, taking in all that had happened, and all that she felt.
‘She’s worse than Selina, I fear she may end up dead by the end of our trip’ whispered the woman to herself, though having heard it the Alpha laughed with all his chest.
‘How about we keep murdering her as our final option? Let’s just focus on getting this training done and get out of here. Besides, you know she has no effect on me whatsoever’ he completed, only receiving a nod in return.
As the pair rested in the land of the nature controllers, Eliana’s only thoughts had been that of Lyra. She had never been jealous in the past, and despite not needing to, she felt a strong negative energy emerge from the woman, and perhaps she was not wrong about it. Though the course of events would unveil the truth of the woman who clearly had more intentions with the Alpha.
