The feeling of mating someone who was physically and literally made for you was beyond anything anyone would ever imagine. It felt right in any and every way, given the fact that that’s what having mates was all about. Though for the rest on the planet of Zaleon, mating was certainly different than mating for the ultimate 2 on Zaleon that were created specially by the creator of the planet, with the care and the tools to make them the most connected and fated of them all. Naturally that meant that the mating process was 100 times better for them than it was for anyone else, though at the same time the elements of Leopold and Cassandra hidden within them was an aspect that brought them to the very point of chaos and friction that the very creators had been through.
On the planet of Boraq the enemies had been evident, and out in the open, reasons for which the pair were forced to conceal their truth under the curtain of disguises and secret passages. Though on Zaleon, this had not been the case nor had it been an issue, then what possible reason could there exist for a pair so strong and so connected to fight right after their mating? The answers lay in the very depth of the personality traits of both Leopold and Eliana, a pair that despite being different by the core they were built with, were actually the same in nature.
Eliana had taken her thoughts of separation and attachment seriously, and that meant that much like the brave Leopold, this bold woman found herself excusing herself from her mate’s room the next morning with a need to be detached immediately. Not only did she leave her mate hanging as if he were a nightly companion, she had replicated the very actions that the poor Leopold had, though for different reasons of course. What was the flame thinking of whilst building Eliana to make her so unique? So much bolder than Cassandra? It had surprised Leopold the turn of events that had taken place after the most awaited mating of the couple, and even the flame remained in doubt and confusion, retracing his steps to identify where these events were deriving from.
The potion brewed to create Eliana had been complex: a piece of Cassandra’s necklace to add authenticity of the woman herself, the abilities of water, immortality and a strong connection to her mate. A part of Leopold’s own heart had been invested into the formation of the immortal woman, and not half as much effort had been put into building the great Alpha of Gloarian. The formula for the man that lay confused in his bed as his mate ran off had been much simpler: a part of Cassandra’s necklace to symbolise her love for him, the ability of fire and a bunch of possessive Alpha male s**t. Razaar was built on the basic roots of building any man on any planet, though despite meaning that technically it should have been Razaar that caused the issues between them, somehow it wasn’t. So what had gone wrong? Had the flame unevenly distributed certain aspects that he shouldn’t have? Was the ratio used for the necklace of Cassandra wrong?
Eliana dashed out of the room in record speed, mentioning a bland excuse about needing to return before Paulina realised, and without a proper goodbye, a kiss or even a peck on the cheeks the woman had disappeared. It made the idea of mating seem almost terrifying, though this was a most unique case.
Somehow the roles of the human civilization had turned on this unique planet. It had been Razaar that had only ever slept with one woman, while Eliana had experienced nights with several nightly companions, and when the time came for both to experience each other, the woman had panicked and rushed out, vanishing at the mention of commitment.
Of course, in the immortal woman’s head the thoughts had been a lot more muddled up than it seemed to the outside world. Questions, statements, aspects floated through her head, and it had all come crashing down like a volcano erupting, overwhelming the woman all too much in one go. In her head, it all went a little something like this:
- What am I doing with my life?
- Should I be mating with my mate when a war is at large?
- What if someone realises the truth about Razaar and I, will we die?
- Am I attached yet?
- Am I still detached?
- I SHOULD DETACH!
- What would my parents think?
- Would they approve of Raazar?
- Does Razaar still love me?
- Will the Vermillion beat us?
- What if some other woman gets in the way?
- What if a man gets in the way?
- Will training be too much for us to handle?
- Will anything else ensure Razaar and I have a hard time?
- How will we adjust to the rules of the Warmecks now that we have mated?
- How long will training last?
- What if the Vermillion find a way to attack before we’re ready?
- Will this world collapse?
- When will the flame answer our questions?
- Does the flame really want us to win?
Despite having the answers to most of the questions, Eliana had found herself panicking in a way she never had before, and so she ran off, getting the air she needed as she returned to her own chambers, welcoming the solitude and her thoughts, and she sat down to one by one sort through them without realising the damage she had inflicted upon her own relationship with her mate and the effect her leaving had had on him.
The rules of the Warmecks were already tough on mates, and now that day of the exempt was over, how would this couple go on about solving their issues? The discussion that would follow and result in the great battle of the immortal couple of Zaleon would mirror the one that took place centuries ago on the planet of Boraq, and once again lives would parallel, and Leopold would find himself staring down at exact replicas from his life, pondering now why him and Cassandra had been such idiots.
Nevertheless, the scenario played out, and as Eliana arrived her quarters, she decided to abandon her chambers to go see the one person who she trusted herself to go talk to. That person had surprisingly come to be Paulina, and picking at her fingers, she approached the office where she knew the woman would be.
After her clear advice to the woman, the leader had not felt nor expected the Hybrid leader, an immortal woman to reapproach her with matters of the heart. It all seemed too bizarre, Paulina was the least qualified person to be talking to about mating, yet here she was, the immortal woman at the doorstep of the commander of Warmecks, asking for advice that did not quite fit in with her situation.
‘Miss Genova, I did not expect your presence till much later in the day, I take it your day of the exempt experience did not go as you wished?’ A surprised Paulina questioned, welcoming the leader inside regardless. The nervous Eliana ignored all statements and insinuations and tumbled inside, pacing around to find the right words to start with.
‘Commander Stem, can I call you Paulina?’ Began Eliana, not understanding how to introduce the subject and therefore stalling with whatever conversation she could. Paulina frowned, though remained calm, as she always was.
‘You may not, Miss Genova’ denied the woman, and it seemed to have no immediate effect on the nerve-wrecked Hybrid leader.
‘Right, of course, how silly of me-’
‘Please get to the point, Miss Genova, I do have work I must return to’ interrupted Paulina, only pressuring the woman to figure out a way to do what she had come to do, and that was to get answers from someone who did not have a mate, though had her independence.
‘I’m sorry, I just, my night went exactly how I had planned for it to go, though somehow when I awoke this morning, I had more questions floating through my mind than ever before, and I don’t quite understand what is wrong with me or how to tackle this issue’ she spat, creating within Paulina more confusion than ever before.
‘Miss Genova, I understand that you might have gotten the impression that you can talk to me freely regarding your romantic life after our previous chat, and I don’t completely disagree with that, for I am a great listener. However, you must understand that I am only a good listener, I cannot always advise you for every minor decision in your personal life, for I have no mate of my own to share experiences from. Besides, it’s rather boggling to me that a woman so brave and strong would be bothered by mere minor matters of the heart. You have been more than capable of coming this far in a war you never intended to be a part of, and yet you’re struggling to understand how you can be one with someone that was meant to be with you? It’s quite simple really, do you love Mr Solonov?’ Responded Paulina, and her overall bluntness had been exactly what the leader had been looking for, even if the context of the answer would not be as insightful. Eliana needed someone to redirect her thoughts and send her off to search within the depths of her own soul the answers to the questions she had, and Paulina was the right woman for the job.
‘Yes, I do love him, of course I do, he’s my mate. We’ve been through-’
‘Then that’s my job done here, Miss Genova, that’s all you need to know. Trust the flame, trust the process, and go with it’ interrupted the Warmeck commander once again, and Eliana found herself gleaming with content, only seeming more psychopathic to the commander.
‘Thank you, yes, that’s exactly what I needed to hear. I’m sorry to bother you, I know you’re no relationship expert, I just know that you’re the only person who can send me off in the right direction’ responded the leader, walking back towards the door she had come from. One minor interaction with Paulina later, the leader was more confident within herself and ready to face the reality of the situation that for some reason always scared her.
‘And why is that, might I ask?’ Questioned Pauline, still not comprehending Eliana’s decision to approach her for advice.
‘Because you and I are more alike than you think, Paulina’ the daring woman spoke, despite being given direct orders not to do so. Though the Commander was left without words at the statement, and let the comment slide, watching Eliana disappear through the doors.
Rushing out, the struggling woman returned to her chambers, now ready to process her thoughts completely. Seating herself down on her bed, she began answering her own questions one by one.
- What am I doing with my life?
I am fighting to protect my planet, with my mate by my side.
- Should I be mating with my mate when a war is at large?
Yes, we are immortal, take advantage of it.
- What if someone realises the truth about Razaar and I, will we die?
We deal with it if it happens.
- Am I attached yet?
Yes, and it doesn’t matter.
- Am I still detached?
Yes, because I am my own person regardless.
- I SHOULD DETACH!
Calm down.
- What would my parents think?
They would be proud of me.
- Would they approve of Raazar?
Yes, he loves me dearly.
- Does Razaar still love me?
Yes.
- Will the Vermillion beat us?
No, we won’t let them.
- What if some other woman gets in the way?
No one will.
- What if a man gets in the way?
No one will.
- Will training be too much for us to handle?
Nothing is too much to handle for us.
- Will anything else ensure Razaar and I have a hard time?
No.
- How will we adjust to the rules of the Warmecks now that we have mated?
Like we adjust to everything else.
- How long will training last?
As long as it takes.
- What if the Vermillion find a way to attack before we’re ready?
Then we fight.
- Will this world collapse?
No, it will not.
- When will the flame answer our questions?
Soon, all in good time.
- Does the flame really want us to win?
Yes, why else would we be so powerful.
Taking a deep breath, the woman felt herself float into security, independence and content all at once, and with that, she was ready to face the one person whom she loved the most, though had the hardest time connecting to.
Making my way to the men’s quarters, she was soon halted by the guard that blocked her way with his weapon.
‘I’m afraid the day of the exempt is over sweetheart, get back to your own quarters.’ He harshly responded, hoping to intimidate her the way they had the day of the fights. Though this time the woman approached the situation with a mindset she had not had before, and determined, she laughed, knowing one way or another she would get in and see her man.
Using her powers of nature, she lifted the man into a bubble of water, and flew him to the other corner of the area rapidly, by the time he fell out of it he was incapable of stopping her from going through.
She carried on with her journey, venturing up to the room she knew he would be in, though when she knocked and he opened the door, she had not expected him to be as upset as he was. Her mere face had turned him away, and he slammed the door back in her face within the instant. As surprised as she was, Eliana had been half expecting that reaction, realising only now the severity of her actions. Though she knew she could not and would not give up, and so she knocked again, pleading for him to let her in.
‘Razaar, I know I f****d up, I just want to talk, please’ she pleaded, followed by a long, stretched out moment of silence and a lack of movement. ‘Just open the door please, I’ll do the rest’ she whispered again, though nothing came out of it. So the woman did what she could, and switching to her alternate form, slid under the doors in her snake form, switching back once she was safely inside.
The Alpha had watched as she did so, and when she faced him for the first time since their mating, the look on his face had worried the woman for what was about to come.
‘Why are you here? What’s the point? Not like having a mate has any value on this planet anyways since you can’t even be bothered to trust him!’ He exclaimed, and with that Eliana processed just how hurt her man had been.
‘Razaar, I didn’t run off because I don’t trust you or love you, it’s because I do, that I ran off. You need to understand that this feeling is all too new for me, and I’m trying to settle in as well as I can but I still struggle sometimes. Ever since my parents passin I’ve been on my own, I’ve never mated with anyone like that before, with real feelings attached. You have, it’s different-’
‘I have, have I?’ He posed, all too hurt.
‘Well Eiva-’
‘You think I felt something when I mated Eiva? Eliana when are you going to realise that I only accepted Eiva because her mate died and because she was my best friend. She was lonely and hurt and so was I! I never felt anything when I mated her because I constantly thought of you, how I rejected you and how it should be you that I mated, I felt guilty every second I was with her, but I did it anyways. So if you think I ever felt anything like that with Eiva then you’re very much wrong, I did not. How could I when the only person I can feel sparks with was not the woman in my bed? You and I have a unique connection, nothing can beat that, but at least I don’t cower away from it’ he mentioned, still keeping his distance from the woman he very clearly loved to death. Eliana’s heart clenched at his words, though she kept herself aloof to solve the situation before she dived back into bed with him to make up for the losses she created.
‘I understand that now, I do. I’m sorry Razaar, I do have a hard time connecting, perhaps it’s because of our past that I have all these unrecognisable notions in my head of what mating should be like or what my expectations are from myself, but I’m wrong to have them, I know that. Regardless I need you to trust that I do love you as much as you love me, I just need you to be patient with me as I adapt to this new style of life. I need you to stick by me as I make my way back to you, because I will, I just need my mind to adjust to the fact that I have someone for life now, that’s all’ she responded, creating a moment of silence between the pair. When he showed a lack of reaction, she moved forward, taking his hand in hers and placing it on her heart. No doubt it had been skipping beats and pumping erratically, and as he looked into the depths of her eyes he knew he was gone. ‘I know it’s a lot to ask, but I need you to trust me’ she whispered, getting closer to him by the second. By the time she reached his chest, she wasted no time in joining her lips with his, entrancing him into another hesitant wave of mating, one that she attempted deliberately, to give the man the end he deserved.
By the time they finished, the woman remained in his bed, and wrapped herself around him, ensuring him that this time she wouldn’t leave.
‘I assume you need to run out for training now’ he mocked, only causing her to chuckle.
‘Training can wait’ answered Eliana, keeping stationary in her position.
This time he smiled, hanging on to her as they recreated a scenario the way it was supposed to, eliminating the minor mis-arrangements that had been in fact, created because of the very nature of their creation.
As the flame looked down, he suddenly realised the flaw in his system, which in fact, was not a flaw at all, it was a part of Cassandra’s nature in itself that had created the fight to begin with.
The fight that dated centuries ago on the planet of Boraq had been instilled within the mind of Cassandra, creating a certain hesitance about her thoughts of her first time with her Leopold, and so the doubts had been shared and passed down to her reincarnation through the part of her that Eliana held: the necklace, and it had been the very root of the issue, that now only seemed a mere aspect of idiocracy to Leopold.
Nevertheless, there would not be a scenario the pair would not overcome, because it was in their very purpose to do so, and to return to one another, for their entire reason of existence was to create an ending that Leopold and Cassandra could not have, and defeat enemies that the flame could not, and so they would set out to conquer their challenges and get to the bottom of things as training awaited them, and so did the harsh commander.
No doubt training would be hard, and the rules of the Warmecks would get in the way of their togetherness temporarily, though they had come back to each other after every wave and this time would be no different.
Paulina had prepared all that she needed for the training that was to come, and for once felt her own greater purpose surging through her, excited to be working to save the world rather than guard it. She only had the pair to thank, and the flame, though through her conversations with the leader that was so much like herself, she began wondering why the flame had yet to grant her with a mate, perhaps the reason for that lay in the fact that she only existed to train and she would never find her mate. Little did she know that all members of Warmecks were equally righteous to having a mate as anyone else, and the appearance of her mate would shock her to the core, much like it had Eliana.
In the meantime momentary peace continued, until training would begin, harshness would unleash and chaos would arrive.
