For some reason in the world of stereotypes the Witches had held the worst reputation for centuries. For what reason? That was unknown, though it had instilled within most Witches a character that most expected, without even wanting to. Though when it came to the realities of the kind of characters you could find on Zaleon, the worst of the worst had by far been the Fairens. It was an ironic choice given the fact that on the human planet all stories that emerged of this kind had been the complete opposite of what they actually were: monsters. Within their kind they functioned as well as any community or pack would, though outside their frolick, they were as nasty as nasty could get. Their hate for the rest of the creatures on their planet had been beyond belief, and the reason was still to be found. As much as Fairens hated the rest of the planet, all other species on Zaleon despised this kind an equal amount. Until then the pair had received prejudices for being an Ivory, though the Fairens didn’t care if someone was an Ivory or a fellow Amethyst like they were, they disliked absolutely everybody on the planet, including the Vermillion. Their issues lay way beyond the system of the hierarchy, and had it been up to them, they would naturally be at the very top of the food chain.
Never had they ever had anyone on their lands willingly, and everytime a member of the outside stepped foot within the land of the Fairens, bad things tended to happen. The discrimination would have been perhaps the only accommodating aspect of their kind, because the rest of them was an absolute horror.
As Clea Menso, the leader of Fairens received the letter that evening, requesting entry for the pair that had won over the Amethyst Witches, she had already begun planning the evil things she could do with an Ivory pair in her grasp. Cruelty had been embedded into their nature, and they did not spare any chance to make use of that nature to the best of their abilities. What the pair wanted was a thought that hadn’t even crossed the woman’s mind, all she wished to see was the miserable expressions on their faces once they would realise what a mistake they had made. To the immortal couple, their unfairness had not been a secret, and surely they had predicted a nasty trick to be played at their entrance, though that had not stopped them from making their grand entrance on a territory that was as deceiving as the beauty that physically the Fairens had been blessed with.
Creating a plan for the Fairens had been close to impossible for the pair, and not really knowing what lay ahead, the pair headed out to improvise the rest of their trip with the cunning kind.
Something large was definitely at play within the skills and powers of the pair itself, and as they wondered exactly what part of the puzzle was missing in their lives, they trusted that the flame would help them out like it always had. Arriving the land of Fairens had been an easy task, though one that turned difficult the second they noticed the absence of any guards by their gates. There was no doubt in the pair's mind that Clea would not be the kind of leader to leave her territory unguarded, for they detested everyone, though they were on high alert as they stepped through the gates, their constantly working minds scanning for threats around them.
There was a certain oddity that lurked around their feet, as they sensed an evil silence conquer the area, knowing that the silence of the Fairens was certainly not the greatest sign. Looking between each other for reassurance, they proceeded to walk deeper into the land, crossing by rows upon rows of houses with absolutely no one in sight. Though at the very end of the lands, stood a woman, who looked more like a statue from the distance. Having no one else to talk to, the pair approached the only woman in sight to explore what exactly had been going on.
By the look on the woman’s face, and the power she emanated, the couple guessed that perhaps she was the leader of the Fairens: Clea Menso, though didn’t get any confirmation until they came to a halt right in front of her.
‘Welcome, Miss Genova and Mr Solnov, or should I say, great Alpha and Luna of Gloarian, and co-leaders of the Hybrids. Rather large titles if you ask me’ she began, creating a confusing welcome for the pair, who did nothing but look at the Fairen in surprise, waiting for the other shoe to drop, and the real chaos to begin. ‘As you may already know, I am Clea Menso, leader of Fairens. Please, follow me inside’ she instructed after her introduction, leading the pair down an unfamiliar path into the woods. The very sight of trees had not been the greatest of ideas as the pair thought for sure something terrible was about to happen, and it was.
‘Where are your people?’ Questioned Eliana, wearily following the woman to wherever she was taking them.
‘They are about, doing their thing’ she responded vaguely, already giving off the wrong signals.
‘Stop, where are you taking us?’ Investigated Razaar, bringing both himself and his mate to a halt. The pair decided not to move until the true intentions of the woman were revealed, knowing that she was surely up to something evil.
‘I am taking you to my office-’
‘Your office that’s in the middle of the woods?’ snapped the Hybrid leader, refusing to play the game that the coy woman had set out to play. Clea found herself smirking at the couple to only make it worse for herself. Then again, she did not like to play it safe.
‘Do you know the layout of my grounds? Do you know what’s beyond this forest?’ She questioned innocently, making it even harder for the couple to extract the truth from a woman so manipulative.
‘Who said we needed an office anyways? We can talk right here, in the open’ retorted the great Luna, refusing to satisfy whatever plans Clea had for her and her mate. The pair had been tasked with being extra careful with their safety now, knowing that they had greater risks to face if either of them died in the process.
‘I do not feel comfortable having this conversation out in the open where any member of my frolick can hear me, Miss Genova’ she responded, giving away that she certainly had a bigger plan in mind for the two. Nevertheless, Eiana remained firm with her words, and to stress her word even further, she sat herself down near the bark of a tree as a form of blatant disobedience and disrespect to the Fairen leader. Razaar followed closely behind, wondering exactly what his mate was up to.
‘I’m afraid we do not feel comfortable following you any further than this point, Miss Menso, so we will have this meeting here. Besides, no one seems to be around, I’m sure we’ll be alright’ remarked the brave, immortal woman, standing her ground. A smirk now played on Razaar’s face, who time and time again was amazed by the boldness and bravery of his mate. ‘Please, take a seat, Miss Menso’ added the woman, firing up a certain rage within the Fairen leader that she had saved for much later. Though having her plan interrupted, the woman reluctantly sat herself down in front of the pair she had already come to loathe.
‘You are a very bold woman, Miss Genonva’ began Clea, sensing her fellow Fairens approaching to do the task they were meant to do further in the forest. Her plan would not go to waste after all, and with that knowledge she resumed her smirk as she faced the couple. ‘The thing about bold women such as yourself, is that I don’t like them one bit’ she revealed, watching as two Fairens appeared from behind the pair, and followed through with the job they were given, by smacking them with their powers and leading them to unconsciousness. The pair had been unable to predict the attack, and were soon under the complete control of the Fiarens, getting tied up to the bark of the tree they had been leaning against. Once tied up securely, Clea walked around them, taking pride within her hateful actions, and eventually splashing a large bucket of water on both of their faces to bring them back to their reality.
The pair awoke with a startle, their blood boiling as they realised that they had still fallen into the traps of the wicked woman.
‘Welcome back’ she merely stated, her eyes holding nothing but evil in them as she smirked manically. The ruthless pair had naturally bubbled up with anger, though kept it together as they had done in most scenarios, knowing they had to find a way out of their situation without giving away anything they didn’t need to.
‘So this is your idea of a conversation eh? You’re that jealous of any other creature of Zaleon that you need to tie them up to have a conversation? Is that how you try to prove to others you're stronger? By being manipulative?’ taunted the Hybrid leader, hoping to get a certain reaction out of the Fairen. Though the only thing she got from the woman was a loud chuckle, one that meant the immortal woman’s words had no effect on Clea.
‘Who said anything about being stronger? I certainly don’t care about strength. It’s just within my passions to hurt people. If you think this has to do with anything other than that, then you’re wrong. So you can go ahead and mock me as much as you like, it’s not going to work, if anything it’ll add to my entertainment. So please, go ahead’ muttered Clea confidently, being a tougher nut to c***k than the pair had anticipated.
‘What do you want from us, Clea?’ Questioned Razaar, wanting to get to the bottom of the issues at once to be done with this kind. The pair had already started to regret their decision to ask the Fairens to fight, knowing they truly were a lost cause, more than any other kind on their planet.
‘What makes you think I want something?’ Retorted the Fairen leader, crossing her arms innocently to frustrate the couple even more.
‘Then why are you doing this?’ The Alpha of Gloarian had begun showing signs of irritation and impatience, and that in itself had been a great sign for the Fairen leader, who wanted exactly that. The sight of misery gave the woman more pleasure than her nightly companions, and it was something she would always want more, even more than her mate had she found him.
‘I told you, I enjoy people’s misery, that’s all’ her curt answers had been a complete waste of time for the pair who despite trying, could not free themselves of the magical chains that had restrained their animals inside. With that, Eliana decided that she would do what she had come to do, despite the circumstances they were in, hoping that it would make a difference to their position.
‘Very well, you want to keep us tied up, then go ahead. Though while I’m here maybe I should tell you our reason for visiting your lands. Surely you know that we would certainly not want to be in your presence if it was not of crucial importance’ introduced Eliana, getting no response from Clea, who only waited for the woman to continue. ‘It has come to our knowledge that the Vermillion are planning on destroying the hierarchy by annihilating every single one of us on the planet. We are trying to recruit everyone on the planet to form a massive army to fight the Vermillion. If your life and existence was not currently threatened, we would not be here, so what we ask you is if you would like to join the army that will essentially save your life in the long term. That is, of course, after you’re done torturing us’ revealed Eliana, knowing that in order to prove her point she would need to be let loose of her chains to display the prophecy she carried along with her. It had not come as a surprise to the pair that Clea had begun laughing at the information, and only waited for her to ask for proof.
‘Of course, and you think I’ll join you instead of the Vermillion?’ She posed, re-entering her fit of laughter right in front of the pair.
‘We expected you might say that, though ask yourself, what makes you think the Vermillion won’t kill you? They tried to use the Lycans against us, but all the Lycans are exterminated now. What makes you think joining the Vermillion will ensure the survival of the Fairens?’ Snapped Eliana, her tone not quite sitting well with the Fairen leader.
‘Why should I believe that I have a larger chance of survival with you?’ countered Clea calmly.
‘Because we want the existence of our kind to carry on, because we already have all of Ivory and the Amethyst Witches on board. The whole reason we’re here is to ensure the survival of our kind, whether or not we like you. The Vermillion will only use you to their benefit, and after they’re done with you, they’ll toss you aside like you don’t matter. Would you rather experience that or continue your life as a leader? Think about it, why else would Razaar and I be here, we know the risks of coming onto your lands, yet here we are’ added Eliana, doing her best to make a compelling case to a woman who looked like was considering her offer.
‘Why should I believe you about this war to begin with? What proof do you have that the Vermillion are after us all?’ She finally asked, launching the opportunity of escape for the pair.
‘I have a prophecy, but I can’t show it to you like this, you’ll need to untie me’ at the very words Clea resumed her laughter, and closed the door for escape.
‘Nice try, Miss Genova. Though you and your mate will not be going anywhere for a while’ she commented, turning around to leave the couple to their lonesome.
‘Why would we be lying?’ Yelled Razaar in the final hopes that the deranged woman would listen.
‘Because that’s what all of you people on this planet do, you lie and hurt people, and that is what the Fairens will also do to anyone who threatens them’ the words of the Fairen leader had stopped making sense, though she stormed out of the scene, not giving the pair a chance to respond to her nonsense. Eliana and Razaar looked between each other astonished, surprised at the nature of the woman, despite having seen it coming.
‘I think we need a plan, this woman is worse than I expected her to be’ voiced the Hybrid leader, anger running through her veins. As humiliating as it was, Razaar laughed at the obvious words of his mate.
‘You think?’ he commented sarcastically, brainstorming the several ways in which he would torture the Fiaren when he was free of his chains.
As the flame watched the interaction from afar, he waited for the Alpha to realise his own powers though realised that as soon as he did, more questions would rise in their minds, and it would only mean more frustration for the pair to bear, that were close to the heart of Leopold. In the meantime things had been going according to plan for the flame, and his only hope was that his reincarnations would get the happy ending he and Cassandra had deserved.
For hours the pair flailed around in their chains, hoping to achieve an escape, though all efforts had been futile as by the end of it they remained in the same positions they had started off in: chained to the bark of a tree. In their time of venturing around terrains not once had they experienced the humiliation and disrespect they had received with the Fairens, and that in itself called for big trouble for the Fairen leader that would soon realise she had messed with the wrong people. She had yet to discover Eliana’s immortality, and when that image would come to light, all else would be forgotten for the woman. It certainly was a moment both were looking forward to, though in the meantime they remained stationary in their position, giving up the fight after realising that it was not doing them any good. Their only hope was to wait for the leader to return and attack the first chance they got.
Eliana and Razaar had refused to speak, knowing that at any moment any person could have been listening, and the only thing the couple wished to ensure to themselves was that they didn’t reveal anything they wished not to in the presence of their current enemy. As daylight turned to nightfall, the pair embraced just how tired they were and how badly they wished to sleep, though they remained awake, not wanting to give Clea the satisfaction of watching them suffer as she wished to. The leader of Fairens had waited countless hours, attempting to tire out her enemies and make them as sleepy as they could be before sending out food with a member of her frolick, who had clear instructions to poison the food before taking it to them. Though it was a move that both members of the pair had expected, and so they refused to eat the food that was brought to them.
Shoving the member away, they kicked the food away with whatever strength they had, and as Clea realised this, the woman strode angrily towards the pair to teach them a lesson.
Using her powers, she tugged on the stomachs of the both of them, creating a hunger that would make them beg for food, though the woman had yet to realise that this particular pair were the reincarnation of Leopold and Cassandra, and her powers would have no effect on them whatsoever, if anything it would anger them more.
‘Fancy any food?’ She questioned as she worked her magic. Though not feeling the effects of her powers, the couple frowned in confusion at her question.
‘Poisoned food? No thank you’ finished Razaar, turning away from the woman. The confusion had now struck Clea, who could not fathom why her powers had not been working. Though the last thing she wished was to seem stupid infront of the mighty pair, and so she terminated the plan and began walking away from the scene once again, only to be stopped by the threatening words of the great Luna of Gloarian.
‘Go where you want, do what you want, when we’re out of these chains, you best be ready for the turmoil you’re going to face. Whatever you think of yourself, think again, because my mate and I are going to ensure you either change or die. That’s a promise’ spat Razaar, barely having any effect on the evil woman who could not be bothered dealing with people inferior to her. With that in mind, she left the scene with a casualty she would soon regret, because despite not being fully aware of their full potential, the pair would shake the grounds they were tied up in, and it was only a matter of time before the great Alpha and Luna of Gloarian did what they were best at: defeating traitors and uniting the planet.
Clea’s only intention by keeping them there had been to extend the amount of satisfaction she got by watching the misery on their faces, though so far the only thing she had received from the pair were threats and no disturbance whatsoever, and it created within the woman, a need to push harder to achieve what she truly wanted. For the time being she pushed the threats aside, not knowing how powerful the pair really were, and continued cooking up the schemes she hoped to put into play very soon.
It was only a matter of time before the truth would be unveiled, and a series of questions would follow that Clea would regret not asking in the time she had. Though how would this intense and cunning leader react when she would realise exactly what she was torturing and what she was up against? What would Clea do when the prophecy would enlight her little mind and she would have to make the choice she had been ignoring for so long? Whatever it was, the pair knew one thing for sure: they certainly were not leaving Fairen grounds without their cooperation in the upcoming war.
