Chapter 3

Being on Amethyst lands was already a large enough crime for the pair of Ivory, though having to face the leader of the Amethyst Witches was a whole other way to introduce discrimnation and discussions in their already packed lives. They were ready for it, of course, though had no wish whatsoever to go down the prejudicial path they had been experiencing for quite some time now, despite being perfectly capable of fighting the worst of Gloarian. Their plan had been simple: do exactly what they had done with the Ivory leaders, with the Amethyst ones. It would consist of a lot of questioning, a lot of convincing, and a lot of efforts to unify a kind that did not want to be unified, though they were willing to do it. If they could get Irina to join the cause, then they could certainly get all other members of Zaleon to join the war, no matter the cost.      In their brief time together, Razaar had come to appreciate every moment he got to spend with his immortal woman, and as they advanced towards a situation much tougher than the previous one, the Alpha learnt to find the rare moments in their day where he could show his woman exactly how much she meant to him. Coming from behind, the man wrapped his arms around the woman he so dearly loved, embracing her and acknowledging her presence with him, knowing that she was smiling on the other side. He planted a kiss on the back of her head before they would have to part once again to speak to the coven leader.      ‘You ready for the meeting?’ she questioned, turning around in his arms to face him.      ‘You mean, am I ready to face a leader who will most probably not believe us, discriminate against us and disrespect us? Absolutely’ he responded with a smirk, lightening the mood with a wink.      ‘Why must we do this? The flame really couldn’t find anyone else to take care of these matters. Then you’ve got Mela and Hayem bringing lives into this world, Melia and Enzo are getting married, even Demillo found his mate. Us, we can’t even proceed to do anything. We’re stuck in this world of infinite battles to fight and packs and communities to lead. Sometimes I just wish we could be two ordinary members of a species, living as we please and making the most of our time together. Now all we have are these brief five minutes before diving into responsibilities, fighting for the planet and explaining to people why I am alive. It really is surreal’ voiced the Hybrid leader, feeling a tight exhaustion take over. After everything she had been through, the only thing she wanted was another peaceful evening with her mate, though she doubted she’d have one anytime soon. Razaar smiled at his whiny mate, holding her closer to his chest.      ‘You know, I think I understand now why the flame kept you alive’ he stated, bringing up questions in the mind of his Luna.      ‘Why’s that?’ she wondered, knowing his response would in no way be related to the real response.      ‘Because you and I are a team. Think about it, everything we’ve done so far, has happened with such discrete structure’ mentioned Razaar, not quite clearing the image for his mate. Her expression had been enough to encourage him to carry on. ‘Why else would it occur to me to reject you? As terrible as it is, had my father not done the terrible things he did to my mother, I wouldn’t have rejected you, and if I hadn’t rejected you, then I would have never gotten into a war with the Lycans, and then we would have been on the losing end of this war for sure. The whole reason we’re fighting this war on the correct end is because we are stronger together because of everything that has happened. I rejected you, I really learnt your value, and when you rejected me you learnt mine. When you died, we both learnt the real value of being mates, and working together. We won that war because we worked together, and because the flame wants us to work together to end this war. If you and I were just an ordinary couple in a pack, think about just how much we would have missed out on. As much as I wish I would spend all the time in the world with you now, I know I will eventually. I’m not going down without a fight, and I’m certainly not letting you die in front of my eyes again. You and I were born for greatness, and we’re going to survive this because we have a whole life to live with each other’ he completed, filling her heart up with the hope she needed, and in turn, did the same for himself. The man had not yet realised just how exhausted he, too, had been, though saying the words that came out of his mouth had surprised even him as he noticed just how badly both needed those words of motivation to keep pushing.     Eliana joined her head to her mate's, taking a breath of relief, knowing that she was not alone in this battle, that he would always stand by her, and most of all, appreciating that this Alpha would let her lead.      ‘You’re right, we get through this together, and start our life together’ before their lips could proceed to connect, the door opened, and a worried Irina walked in, regretting her actions immediately as she realised just what she had interrupted.      ‘I’m so sorry, I should have knocked, I just forgot to’ she responded, causing Eliana to chuckle and push away from her mate, terminating the few precious moments they would have together that day.      ‘Irina, don’t worry about it. What’s wrong? Why do you look so tense?’ asked the Hybrid leader, advancing towards the utterly stressed woman.     ‘Zoraya, she’s ready for you’ stated the Amethyst Witch, holding more concern than she should have upon those words.      ‘That’s great, why do you sound so worried?’ Razaar posed, wondering if there was another thing to add to the list to worry about.     ‘Zoraya, she’s not like me or Vulen. We are accepting of all people because we’ve never seen the bottom tier of the hierarchy as a threat or as scum. The same cannot be said for the rest of the Amethyst Witches, I’m afraid. They remain unenlightened, and will perhaps act harsh and with disgust towards you. Please, just no matter what she says, do not take offence. Zoraya is a nice person, she just sticks to the role that has been instilled upon her. She pretends to be superior, even more so if you’re Ivory, but in reality she has a soft spot for everything, she just doesn’t know how to show it’ revealed Irina, bringing to light what already had been there for the Ivory pair. Eliana chuckled at the words of the sympathetic woman who had been completely clueless of what they had already experienced, and surprised her by doing so.      ‘Irina, do you really think we got into Tetra without any challenges or unfairness? We just went to war with the Lycans, I came back from the dead. I think we can tolerate the remarks of a coven leader’ explained the Hybrid leader, knowing by the shared look with her mate that they were ready for the next part of their mission. ‘Now, take us to her’ instructed the great Luna, getting a nod of respect from Irina, who within seconds led the couple out of her humble home, into the ruthless lands of the Amethyst Witches.     They had instantly received dirty looks from every member that passed by, though luckily no one had said a word to voice their opinions, though the mere scenario had the leader wondering exactly what had happened in their history to make the Amethyst detest the Ivory like they did. Why had their planet come with so much hate and separation? Why were these invisible barriers of loathe created? Especially when there was no base for it. For that mere reason she had been glad that they were about to fight a war that would perhaps change that, knowing that a war like that could only occur for the greater good.      A few moments later, their Amethyst friend halted, hesitating for a brief moment before leading them into a majestic building that no doubt belonged to Zoraya Levix, and the mere darkness in the house had been a large warning that this would certainly not be easy. Instead of advancing towards the office, as they usually would, Irina led the couple towards the kitchen, where the leader had been cooking, much to their surprise. How this woman was supposed to be a threat while performing an act so casual, the couple had yet to figure out. The woman had her back turned to her guests, and refused to turn around as they entered, carrying on with her tasks as Irina led them inside.      ‘Irina, thank you for bringing them to me. You are dismissed.’ Ordered Zoraya, speaking with her back to the couple, out of which Eliana was troubled at the disrespect not only towards the couple, but also towards Irina. As their friend was about to leave, Eliana grabbed onto her, stopping her from doing so.     ‘No need, she’s heard it all, she can stay’ spoke Eliana, finally grabbing the attention of the coven leader that stopped dead in her tracks at the backanswer of the Ivory woman. Turning around, Zoraya finally came face to face with her guests, a blank expression on her face as she revealed herself to the audience.      ‘Very well, it looks like the leader has spoken Miss Ygorov, you must stay’ mocked the coven leader, taking a different approach at tackling the disrespect than the blatantly aggressive leaders of Ivory. The challenge had already begun looking better for the couple, who knew they could at least negotiate with the woman who was willing to listen to what they had to say. ‘Tell me, co-leaders of Hybrids and great Alpha and Luna of Gloarian, what brings you here today? You’re quite a distance away from home. Irina here tells me this is a great concern for us as it is for you’ she invited, giving the floor to the Hybrid leader.     ‘It is. We are here because there is a war coming up and you’re going to want to be a part of it’ she began, already amusing the coven leader ‘The Vermillion have schemed to terminate the system of the hierarchy, and are planning to do so by eliminating every other creature in existence. They tried to use the Lycans against us, using their leader as a pawn to destroy us, though my mate and I put together the truth long ago, and have ever since been recruiting creatures to build a big enough army to take on the strongest 6 of Zaleon. We have every single creature of Ivory on board and ready to fight, and our next task is to gather the Amethyst. My mate and I will train with the Warmecks before the war is taken to them. The Vermillion have yet to figure out that we have discovered their secret, so we can use the element of surprise to destroy them’ explained Eliana in the best way possible, hoping that no more trouble would come about. It wasn’t, however, going to be such an easy task to gather anyone to fight against the Vermillion, and so when the leader resisted, it was a reaction they had already anticipated.      ‘Great, I’ll just take your word for it then, and blindly walk into a war with the Vermillion. Irina, darling, would you mind gathering the Witches so that I can announce that the Amethyst Witches will be taking part in a suicide mission?’ responded a sarcastic Zoraya, looking at the couple like they were crazy. Razaar’s patience was clearly at test, though he did his best to explain things calmly before things got out of hand.      ‘You don’t believe us yet, that is completely justified, we have the proof, just know that when you see all of it you’re going to regret your attitude with us’ he warned, knowing full well the woman was bound to react with fear at Eliana’s immortality. It had made the Hybrid leader extremely uncomfortable to have to reveal herself time and time again, yet there she was, sharing the story more times than she could count. Irina had been looking down the whole time, knowing that Razaar’s words were true, and fearing her own friend more than she did her leader at that moment.      Eliana stepped forward, knowing what she had to do as she opened up her hand in front of the leader, and displayed the prophecy that did not lie. Watching the process of the woman’s expression had been quite a journey, though by the end it had become transparent that Zoraya believed them, and feared them as much as Irina did. Her eyes landed on the Hybrid leader, and she did not know if she should display fear, confusion or disgust.      ‘What are you?’ was all that she could ask, bringing even more discomfort to Eliana. The Hybrid leader had had just about enough of people fearing her for the mere reason that she survived death, and wished she could have found another way to gather the army than continuously having to put herself through a repetition of all that she had been through to get to where she was.      ‘I’m a Hybrid’ stated with simplicity the great Luna of Gloarian.     ‘You certainly are not, dear. Whatever is inside you is stronger than just a snake and a wolf, it’s more than that.’ brought to light the coven leader, trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together herself.     ‘I am not more than a Hybrid, Zoraya. Just because we don’t know why I’m alive, does not mean you need to fear me. You must not fear what you don’t know’ stated Eliana, wondering what it would take to make people understand that her survival was certainly a miracle, though nothing to be afraid of.      ‘I do not fear what I do not know, dear. I fear what I do, and all I know right now is that no one has survived death on this planet before. Not even a Vermillion, except you’ the explanation had brought worry to all those present in the room, and despite thinking the opposite a moment ago, even Eliana began to wonder what really was wrong with her.      ‘I understand your concern, though that is not why we are here. We are here to identify if you will take part in this war or not. So, with that being said and done, what will your decision be Miss Levix?’ asked the Hybrid leader, switching the topic completely and taking the spotlight off her for a while. It seemed every time the couple travelled around, there was something that the Hybrid leader had to reveal to gain people’s trust. First it was the wounds from the human planet, and now her immortality. It was evident that the flame really did have a liking of the woman he constantly put in the center of it all.      Zoraya took a brief moment to consider the offer of the woman, though could somehow not take her mind off the most bizarre thing she had just witnessed within the prophecy. If there was one thing the coven leader was sure of, it was that she would no longer get any rest until she discovered exactly what was going on with the Hybrid leader, and would only then decide if she wished to join the war or not. The entirety of it all had hit her for sure, though as true as the story was it had not been a compelling thought to go up against the Vermillion, no matter how big the army would be.      ‘We must figure out why you are alive. Only then will I decide if I wish to join you in this war, Miss Genova. Do we have a deal?’ Posed Zoraya, bringing slight confusion to the pair who wondered what her intention had really been with finding out what was wrong with the immortal woman.     ‘Why are you so interested in her immortality? What is it to you?’ Asked Razaar, stepping forward to where his mate stood. Irina stood back in the corner absolutely mute, not knowing what to say, knowing the risk of her words could be intense. She had no intention of speaking against her leader, neither did she have any intention of disrespecting her immortal, powerful friend.     ‘Alpha Solonov, the matter is way bigger than I had expected, and until I don’t have all the details I require, I refuse to move forward with my decision. I will not sign up to something without knowing what exactly is going on’ she clarified, only raising more suspicion within the pair that believed the woman was up to something larger, something more wicked.      ‘My mate’s status of existence has nothing to do with the facts that are true. A war is coming, whether you like it or not, and your only options are to either join us or die. The choice is yours, Zoraya’ responded the great Alpha of Gloarian, being as stern as his mate had been all this while.      ‘Why Alpha, aren’t you even the least bit curious why your mate is alive after all that happened? We can give you the answers you require here. Don’t you want them?’ taunted the leader who knew exactly what she was playing at. Despite knowing the temptation that the Witch had planted into their head, Eliana decided to take the opportunity, knowing there would be no better time to figure out what was actually wrong with her.      ‘Fine, but how do you suggest we begin? My mate and I have already paid the most sacred Galon of Gloarian a visit, and have come up with no explanations as to why I’m alive. What can you do to help bring that cause to light?’ asked the leader with a racing heart, knowing she might just be a step closer to finding out the truth that she feared herself. The fear had mostly been there to remind her that perhaps her life would terminate after she had served her purpose, though a great part of her hoped the flame would not play such cruel games with her, especially not when she had just gotten together with her mate.      ‘Your sacred Galons are not half as powerful as ours-’     ‘It’s a Galon, surely you’re not going to discriminate against the flame like you did with us, now are you, Zoraya?’ Razaar interrupted, knowing that the prejudices that had been taking place had a limit, and the coven leader was certainly about to cross one.      ‘That is not what I mean, Alpha Solonov. I only just mean that perhaps you could find something here that you could not in Gloarian. I will assemble a meeting with my Elder Witches, they will lead us in the right direction’ corrected Zoraya, not wanting any trouble with the flame at all. Despite knowing the woman in front of her was immortal, the coven leader still saw the flame in eyes of much higher respect, and would dare go against the superior power that created her to begin with.     ‘Very well, let’s get this over then’ agreed Eliana all too quickly, ignoring the glance she had been getting from her mate. The coven leader nodded, heading out for a brief moment to send a letter to her elder Witches, leaving the three in the spot where she had met them.     ‘Eliana, are you sure you want to do this?’ Questioned her mate, finally having the moment to discuss it with her before the Witch returned.      ‘Yes, it’ll get one more thing off our chests. If they can help us then so be it. You’re sure she’s trustworthy?’ Posed the Ivory leader to her Amethyst friend, who up until then had buried herself in the corner of intimidation. Irina shook herself awake, walking forwards till she reached her friend.      ‘Yes, I don’t think she’ll turn against you, especially not after knowing what you survived. If anything she fears you’ responded Irina, knowing she felt somewhat the same way. The pair nodded, and gave each other a glance of confirmation before the leader of the Amethyst Witches returned, an expression of concern on her face as she finally led them to her office.      ‘Please follow me, the elder Witches will be arriving any minute. Let’s figure out what’s really going on here, shall we?’ She stated, pushing the doors of her office open to let her guests in.
