Princess Tarella sat at the table with the Duke of Suvata and they talked at length. He told her he wanted them to start as being friends and would appreciate it if it leads to a relationship to which she replied that she would think about it.
In the course of their conversation, she assessed him as regards his physical appearance as well as his personality and she was seemingly satisfied.
When she was conversing with him, she stole glances several times at Prince Alfred who was seated a bit away from her, and saw that he was in a pensive mood and she felt somewhat glad that she was making him feel bad as she knew she has hurt his ego. That is the punishment for speaking so rudely to her. Perhaps, this would teach him a lesson and next time, he will behave himself, she thought.
