"Jason, guess who I just saw right f*****g now!" Kira gritted her teeth as Jason picked up the call from the other side of the phone. "Who?" Jason asked, his tone discordant and harsh, but Kira didn't sense it. She was too angry to pick up hints. "It was my good-for-nothing ex-husband. That trash really has gotten his hands dirty!" She yelled as she dug her fingers into her hair, clawing at it. Jason let out a sigh, but Kira couldn't believe her ears. "Are you even listening to me? I'm telling you something serious right now. That bastard allegedly bought our wedding car. What the hell are we supposed to do now? So many things aren't connected!" She said again. "Your ex is now the acting CEO of Blackview Incorporated. I got fired today. And I heard them calling him Drax. It's f*****g crazy," Jason dropped the bombshell. Kira's heart skipped a beat while she received the news. "What do you mean you got fired? How did Alex or Drax or whatever his name is I don't f*****g care, get your job? How did you get yourself fired?" She screamed at him, provoking the glares of passersby. "Keep your voice down, Kira!" Jason shot back. "We're supposed to get married, Jason. You have to look for a way to fix this. You just have to. Drax can't take your f*****g job. You're getting it back and I don't care how," Kira stated and hung up before Jason could respond. She clenched her fist as she restrained herself from screaming, else people could call her insane. She then trudged to the garage and got into her car. As soon as she was inside, Kira zoomed off in fury. *** "Shall we?" Drax stretched out his hand to Cara who took it and stepped out of the 2025 Bentley, wearing a short pink dress with tiny straps. She smiled as she stood before the Grandeur Restaurant, one of the most exquisite restaurants in the city. "Oh, Drax. You shouldn't have brought me here. We could have used someplace else," she said as joy swelled in her heart, but Drax gently approached her and pulled her closer. "I want to take care of you tonight. Let me to this. For you," he told her and then pressed his lips against hers. Cara moaned softly as she kissed him back, and a longing began to build in her heart. "Let's go," Drax muttered as he broke the kiss. They trudged towards the door, holding each other's hands. As they stepped through the gleaming glass doors, the soft chime of a piano and the gentle hum of conversation enveloped them, immediately transporting them to a world of refined elegance. "It's just as they said. How did you secure a table for us tonight? They're usually fully booked at all times. Even I haven't been able to make a reservation," Cara wondered. Drax smiled. "I have my ways with these sorts of things," he gently responded as a young lady approached them with a scowl on her face. "Can I have your name and table please?" She said in a rude tone while tapping the tablet in her hand. "Good evening to you too!" Drax replied with sarcasm and then handed him the document which every guest prints from the restaurant's website after making a reservation. It contained all of the details needed to validate who they are. The lady took the document and then typed in some letters that seemed to take forever. But then, she looked at Drax with a glare. "I don't believe that you're indeed the new acting CEO of Blackview Incorporated. We've had scammers before in the past and I think you're one of them," she said to him and Drax's expression darkened immediately. "Excuse me?" He said, anger flooding his heart. "That no way to speak to a customer, lady!" Cara jumped in, but the lady rolled her eyes. "If I were you, I'd run away from this one. He has probably cooked up lies to get in your pants tonight. Look at him. He's malnourished, barely even fit in that suit and looks like he spent a greater part of his life in the gutters. He can't he who he says he is-" "So, what are you saying?" Cara asked her. "I'm kicking him out. You can stay ma'am. I'm certain you'd get a guy who truly deserves you tonight, not this trash," she added. "I want to speak with your manager. You will lose your job when he gets here," Drax stated with all certainty but the lady scoffed. "How dare you speak to me in that manner? Security! Security!! Get this douchebag out of this place!" She screamed and people began to cast glances at them, wondering what was happening. "You will regret this," Drax stated again. The lady dropped her tab and attempted to grab Drax's tusk, but then a man suddenly grabbed her hand. "What the hell do you think you're doing? Assaulting a customer, and a very important one at that?!" The manager known simply as Sid, yelled at the lady. "He's a low life who tried to scam his way into this place. He has forged credentials!" She yelled. "He's not! I personally confirmed Mr Drax's reservation last night!" He yelled at her, and the lady froze. Her eyes rolled to Drax and Cara before they focused on the manager again. "But-he-I-" she croaked. "I want her fired. Now," Drax told the manager gently, but the lady fell on her knees before him. "Please! I'm sorry. Have mercy on me. I didn't know who you are," she begged while tearing up. Then she looked at the manager. "He can't influence any decision here. You hold absolute power," "Actually, he can. As of last night, this restaurant was sold to Blackview Incorporated. It's their property now," Sid replied and the girl gasped. "So, you're fired! Pick your things and f**k off!" "Noooooo" she cried out as the manager turned to Drax. "Apologies for that, sir. Please, follow me," he said to them. He led them through the foyer, where a stunning crystal chandelier refracted tiny rainbows across the polished marble floor. The dining room itself was a masterclass in understated luxury, with creamy white walls, rich wood accents, and tables set with crisp linens and fine china. Their table, number 7, nestled in a cozy alcove near the window, offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline. "Here is the menu. A server will be with you shortly. May I offer you a cocktail or a glass of wine to begin?" He asked. That'll be lovely. Thanks. Champagne, please. And a glass for the lady as well, Drax said with a smile. Sid nodded and walked away. "We've been trying to buy this restaurant for years! How did you achieve it so quickly?" Cara asked Drax, truly bewildered by his marketing skills. "I made them an offer that they couldn't refuse. Plus, I really wanted to bring you here," Drax replied to her. "Every minute, I find you more interesting, Drax. And I'll make your night worthwhile," Cara said as her eyes darted to the table, feeling coy. Drax leaned in, took her chin and raised in. While holding her gaze, he tried to kiss her, but a piercing headache he felt made him jerk back immediately! [Warning! Danger approaching!! Danger approaching!!!] His system screamed inside his head. Drax frowned as the headache persisted. What the hell was going on?
