"This is ridiculous. You're flying to a meeting in France with that bookstore company that pulled out of their contract to talk them into signing back on. It's not like you're running from your problems, Carter." Ariana sighed as she locked his phone and slipped it back into his pocket.
"Yeah, but the media doesn't know that. Neither do they care to know. I can tell them anything and it will get twisted into something else." Carter sighed as he tried to relax against the pillows to sleep.
"You can't pay them off?" Ariana cuddled up against him and dangled his tie over his chest, teasing him with it.
"I could, but it wouldn't stop another one from replacing it." Carter closed his eyes and picked at the cool toned grey comforter.
