NATHAN STROLLED DOWN the pedestrian walk on Ark Avenue, enjoying the sight of the stars and the moon in the night sky, and the warmth of the night air on his skin. It was July 7, 2029, and after three years of volcanic haze in the night sky, and the chill coming off of the advancing ice sheets back in the states, it was nice to be down here in the relative security and comfort of the Brazilian night.
Nathan had been in Ark City, as it was becoming called by the populace, for about four years now, ever since the exodus of the Sentinel Caravan out of the New Orleans Harbor, missing interdiction by the TAU forces by only a few hours.
