The door swings open, and I hear the familiar sound of Lucas’s footsteps. My heart skips a beat as I rush to greet him. He looks up, his face breaking into that warm smile that always makes me feel safe and loved.
“Hey, beautiful,” he says, leaning down to kiss me softly. “Did Giulia arrive?”
“Hey, handsome,” I reply, feeling giddy. “ Yes she did, come meet her.”
I pull back and gesture for Giulia to come forward, my excitement bubbling over. “Lucas, this is my best friend, Giulia. She Was a big help to me in Rome.”
Lucas turns, and the moment he sees her, that charming smile widens. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Giulia,” he says, extending his hand. “Ashley has told me so much about you.”
Giulia steps forward, her eyes sparkling with delight as she shakes his hand.
