*Ashley* I’m jolted awake by Alexander’s cries, his voice piercing through the peaceful silence of the penthouse. “No! Stop! Please!” he screams, thrashing around in the bed. My heart races as I sit up, the panic settling in my chest. “Don’t take me.” “Alexander!” I call softly, trying to keep my voice steady. “Sweetheart, it’s okay. I’m right here.” I quickly get him untakled from the blanket and moves closer to his side. He’s sitting up now, tears streaming down his face, his little body trembling. I reach out to him, but before I can comfort him, the door swings open. My heart drops as I realize it’s a gun. “What's happening?” he asks, his voice urgent.
