Lewana POV
I wake up the next morning safe in Conrad's arms. I ran out of tears and passed out from exhaustion in the living room and he must of carried me to his bed to protect me for the night.
I woke early and went to sit by the window to watch the sunrise. I was only up about ten minutes when I started to feel Conrad's panic rising at not feeling me in the bed next to him.
"It's OK, Shadow. I'm just over here."
He wakes up with a scowl across his face. He stomps over to me, picks me up as if I weigh nothing, and takes me back to bed like a child who has lost their cuddly toy.
"I wasn't going anywhere. I was just thinking about everything we have to do today."
He instantly starts to protest. "You left the bed. That means you went somewhere."
