Just a day after returning from the monster’s dimension.
Ushar walked around inspecting various machineries functioning around the place, with slight urgency in his face, two weeks had already been spent from the single month given to him by Bryan, the human leader, couple with Aria’s claim that the magician might have attacked the Vampire kingdom, he was rather impatient.
The place Aria had dedicated to the project was not the lowest floor; rather it was on the floor which had extended on for almost a hundred meter before its ceiling, the same floor he had almost been turned into a smoking skeleton during his first visit to the skyscraper.
“Everything is working just fine, you know. You can go on a visit to your families, I see you miss them a lot.” Linda said, chomping on a piece of steak as she nodded, looking at Ushar with a cheeky smile.
“Thanks very much Linda, I really appreciate.” He said, with a wide smile before sighing, “now, how do I get a flight to the underworld?” He muttered thoughtfully. His last journey was after all, only possible because it managed to coincide with the period of the humans annual submission to the Blood Kingdom.
“A flight, what would you need a flight for.” Aria said, eating some snacks by a side as well.
“I need a flight to get to the portal which is somewhere in clouds over the pacific, I don’t have wings you know.” Ushar spoke, looking at Aria before his face turn odd.
“Well, I thought you there is a portal in the northern ice lands.” Aria spoke before noticing Ushar strange expression. “Uh, what is it, is there something on my face.” She asked, touching her face and Ushar expression turned even stranger.
“Well, there is indeed something on your face Aria, and stop touching your face with those oily hands already.” Linda said, rolling her eyes and Aria stiffened in realization.
“I have got oil on my face.” She asked.
“A hell lot of them, actually.” Linda said, chuckling before throwing a napkin at Ushar.
“Go clean her up.” She said, with a wink and Ushar stared at her for moment before moving towards Aria.
“Hey, stay put.” He spoke attempting to clean the girl’s face but she had looked down, blushing before disappearing from the place.
“Why did I think that would happen?” Ushar said, with another sigh while Linda laughed on.
Soon, Aria appeared again, this time all clean before looking at Ushar who spoke first, “you mean there are portals on the lands.” He stated.
“Yes, it is quite far but I can still feel it, should I teleport you there.” Aria asked.
“Uh, wait, I should pick something.” Ushar spoke leaving in a blur and when he appeared again, a red orb could be seen in his hand. He put the orb in his coat before speaking, “okay, we can leave now.” And Aria nodded.
“I will be back in a sec, Linda.” She said.
“Well, take your lovely time.” Linda replied with a cheeky smile and Aria quickly looked away from her before holding Ushar arm and both disappeared.
In a faraway icy land, Ushar and Aria materialized at the bottom of a very tall cliff and Ushar looked around, slightly surprised on seeing the familiar place.
“Uh, I would usually appear around this place whenever I use the underworld’s portal.” He muttered, and Aria nodded as she spoke, “that is because the portal here is linked directly to the one in the underworld, now follow me.” She said walking into a small hole at the foot of the cliff.
“Well, since you possess this teleportation power, why can’t you just teleport me directly into the underworld.” Ushar asked.
“Well, my teleportation powers may seem quite great but there are not unlimited. I can only teleport to places I have memories of. It is either, I have been there or even if I have never been there, at least have a picture of it in my mind, meaning I can see it. As for the underworld, the only place I have a memory of is in the Magic Kingdom, I don’t think that is your destination.” Aria said leading Ushar into a giant cave and there he could see the portal.
“Makes sense.” He muttered, stopping beside her in front of the portal before turning towards her.
“Aren’t you concerned?” Ushar suddenly spoke and Aria’s brow rose.
“About what?” She asked.
“I am going into the underworld as a Vampire prince you know, and the magicians are probably attacking or planning to attack at any moment meaning I would probably have to fight them. Aren’t you worried for other magician’s like you?” Ushar explained
“Uh, that…” Aria said as a slight smile emerged on her face and she stared down, “it doesn’t matter, I have always seen myself as human just till some years ago and actually never even believe the Magicians existed. Finding out about them however hasn’t changed much, when they look at me, I can actually see that glaring animosity in their eyes, they don’t like me and they don’t even bother hiding it and, I guess I don’t really care as well, especially now that I have you.” Aria replied, shyly staring up to Ushar face.
Ushar looked at her for a moment, with a complex face. Even though his story was not similar to the girl’s, he could perfectly understand her. He understand what it felt like to be rejected and hated among those like you, even so however, his father had always told him, he was a Vampire not because other Vampire saw him as one but because he was one. There was nothing that could change that hence, his obligations towards the Vampire kingdom still remained.
“Aria, you a Magician, that they don’t accept you as one doesn’t make you any less of a magician and the moment you decide that, you have the right to make things right in the magician race, it is your duty.” He said and both looked at each other for a moment before Ushar gave a nod and stepped into the portal.
Aria stared on at the portal for a moment before disappearing from the place.
