SAVE ARIA

“I have to find Aria.” That was the only thought in Ushar’s mind as he walked through the dense jungle of the monster dimension with great worry in his mind.

Aria was a strong magician no doubt but Ushar was quite confident that he was stronger than her. Even with his strength however, a creature had proven capable of attacking him in his sleep and even weakening him so much without his knowledge, he didn’t want to imagine what would happen if Aria was to encounter that type of creature hence he needed to get to her as soon as possible.

“Uh…” Ushar suddenly paused in place as he looked around in surprise. He hadn’t noticed it at first but the area all around him was all opened in contrast to the thick vegetation all around. That however did not worry him as much as the sign of wreckage all around, metallic parts and glass shards were strewn all around with smokes even rising from some place, it was like a series of explosions had went off around the place and this so much reminded him of human technology.

“Did, they follow us in here?” He muttered worriedly as he looked around before approaching one of the metallic parts beside which he bent, caressing the hard metallic surface.

“Sigh… I don’t have to be so paranoid. Humans occasionally explore into the monster dimension so it may be some unfortunate parties that had met their demise at the hands of some monster.” Ushar muttered as he stood up. Arriving at this conjecture however did little to alleviate his worry, if there was a monster capable of causing of all destruction around here, he’d better tread carefully.

Still however, there was a great probability that the humans had indeed follow them into the monster dimension and Aria had been attacked by them so following the traces of metal ruins might help him find her.

“Sounds like a plan” Ushar muttered with a self nod as he began to follow the path of the destroyed machines. Barely had he walked a few meters when the screeching sound of tearing metal reached his ears and Ushar paused, listening more attentively to the source of the sound.

Slowly, he walked forward still following the machine ruins while making sure to mind the screeching sounds and suddenly Ushar stopped.

“s**t!” He suddenly cursed with gritted teeth. He would have actually like to avoid whatever was causing this sound since he had no energy for a fight right now but it seems a monster was actually munching on the metallic remains of the destroyed machine meaning this monster was exactly in his path, he either avoided a fight and lose his only lead towards Aria or follow it and risk a fight in his weakened state.

Apparently however, Ushar seems to have no option as a threatening growl reached his ear and from the side of a swamp in the distance, a bear like monstrosity could be seen glaring at Ushar with its glinting brown eyes. The fur of the dreadful monster seems to be made of metal, it was distinguishable even in the darkness and Ushar simply knew this monster was different; it was nothing like the ones he had fought before.

Barely was Ushar offered a second to take a look at the monster’s stats when it shot off its position, crashing into him like a living tank but Ushar had activated another skill in the nick of time.

[Bone Armour skill activated]

Bang!

The monster slammed into Ushar with such force that his he could feel the bone armour on his body being crushed as he was lifted off the ground and sent smashing through a large tree behind.

Ushar was eventually stopped by a mound of Earth as he groaned; crashing face first into the ground but the monster was not done. It shot in slamming its gigantic paw towards Ushar’s head but he managed to roll to the side on time and the ground trembled slightly to the terrifying power of the paw as Ushar struggled to stand.

To his pleasant surprise however, his leg impacted a decaying remain of some monster and the bones in the corpse immediately melded into his leg, flowing up his thighs and soon, a large sword had been formed into Ushar’s hand.

Turning towards him, the monster gave a loud roar as its whole body glowed as its fur transformed into a thousand metallic blades which shot out in all direction and Ushar immediately slammed the bone sword in his hand into the ground as the metallic blades crashed into it, chipping rapidly away at its body until the whole sword blasted apart but the attack was spent as well.

“Sigh…” The sigh had barely escaped Ushar’s lips when the humongous paw of the monster widened in his sight and Ushar crossed his hands with horrified face, bearing the full brunt of the attack as his body was catapulted off the place, smashing through several obstacles until it was stopped by a gigantic tree at the center of a green swamp.

Now, Ushar seems to have returned to the same tree that had always been the end of his journey and just then a familiar scent impact his nose.

“Aria” Ushar muttered but the bear was not done as it gave a loud roar before its humongous body shot towards him from the edge of the swamp but the monster had barely made half of the distance when the swamp turned lively.

Numerous greens tentacles broke through the water surface like snakes while the root of the tree behind him pulsed with powerful green light. The tentacles lunged towards the bear whose body glowed silver light and metallic blades blasted out, piercing through the tentacles and reducing many to shreds but the next scene made Ushar’s blood run cold.

For each of the destroyed tentacles, three more emerged and the shredded ones were also regenerating with great speed. Against hundred of tentacles, the bear could only roar in anguish as they wrapped around its whole body pulling and lashing until the poor monster was torn apart, a limb at a time.

“f**k!” Ushar cursed as he glanced back at the tree on whose body, a green glow was slowly receding. Then slowly, he looked up towards one of the branch to see a frail lady with silver air sleeping peacefully on it. She did not seem the slightest disturbed by all the violence around as her eyes were closed in deep slumber.

“This tree…” Ushar did not dally as he leapt unto the tree branch picking Aria and the tree immediately began to tremble as he saw tentacles rising from all around again.

One of the tentacles immediately shot towards him and Ushar didn’t even get the chance to drop Aria before his body was picked by a single tentacle and sent slamming violently into the swamp.

Blood spurted out of Ushar’s mouth even before the contact. After all, the grip of the tentacle was so powerful that it crushed all his one armour and even the bones in his body.

When his body impacted the swamp, Ushar felt helplessness washed over his whole being, the pain was actually not so great as his body seems to have suddenly gone numb.

“There is nothing I can do.” Ushar thought in despair as his body was submerged into the filthy swamp and he battled for breath. Above the water, he could see four more tentacles rising and at once, they all lashed down on him.

[Health: 45%]

[Health: 15%]

Then Ushar’s vision blanked.
