“Well, in the context of the ancient agreement made between humans and all supernatural races, your presence here is disallowed but there are exceptions.” The President spoke.
“Exceptions, like the Magician King,” Aria replied and the President raised a brow.
“Indeed, the Magician King is a great example of an exception. In fact, all supernatural Royalties are exceptions. After all, only by maintaining peace with them can the agreement be safe and valid.” The President replied.
“Maintaining peace…” Aria repeated coldly, “does your strategy for maintaining peace include killing other humans, does it include sending off numerous humans to the supernatural as food?” She questioned.
“Well, these are things we do for the survival of the whole human race. A few sacrifices are needed to ensure the continuity of the whole and the human race is actually better off without many of those sacrificed. It is a win-win situation for everyone.” The President replied, looking unbothered, “but I am quite surprised there can be some supernatural beings so much concerned about the human world and situation, you two are quite adventurous I must say, even in your learning.” The President added nodding his head in approval.
“Indeed, we have always been really curious, so do tell me. Does your strategy of keeping peace include coming after supernatural beings when you are perfectly aware that they have been born and bred in the human world? Does your strategy of keeping peace involve coming after supernatural beings who had known themselves as humans all their lives!” She asked again and this time, a slight frown emerged on the President face before his eyes widened.
“It is you.” He suddenly exclaimed, before nodding his head, “I had my doubts on seeing you actually, those silver hairs and eyes were just too unique to forget.” The President spoke.
“You haven’t answered my question.” Aria said.
“Well, we indeed have a stringent policy when it comes to unidentified supernatural beings. Their previous history doesn’t matter, even if they had lived from childhood to old age as human, once discovered with any paranormal activity, they are to be withdrawn from the society and put under close watch. If they prove reasonable, we get them back to the underworld, if they behave otherwise, they will simply be gotten rid of.” The President replied.
“Without their emotion, their family, their lives and dreams taken into consideration, right?” Aria added.
“Well, as a victim of such policy, I understand you might harbor some resentment towards us humans, young lady. And I use this opportunity to apologize but still, it’s something we must do to ensure utmost security of the human society.” The President stated.
“That apology might be coming gravely late but you don’t seem to mean it anyway, do you have anything to say, Ushar.” Aria said, and Ushar nodded slowly, before looking at the President, his dark eyes as cold as ice.
“Are you aware of the Magician’s plan to destroy the seer mercenaries?” Ushar asked.
“Seer mercenaries.” The President repeated, raising a brow before nodding, “indeed, the Magician King had personally sent a message to me to not interfere in the battle so I am indeed aware of their destruction.” The President answered, nodding.
“And, what was their reason for destroying the mercenaries?” Ushar asked.
“Well, they said there was a strong Breaker among the Seer mercenaries, who could pose a great threat to the human world. That was enough reason.” The President replied.
“And you believed! You let other humans like you get killed because of some Magician’s claim?” Ushar asked, angrily.
“Well, there was nothing to doubt. The seer mercenary had always been a strange one, they completed missions which were supposed to be impossible and there are several reports that this had always been done by a mysterious figure who is known only to the core members of the Mercenary group. Their last mission however proved everything, after all, only another Breaker could capture such a strong Breaker as this lady beside you. As for the fact that I watched my fellow humans get killed, they were traitors. They had declared themselves enemies of the human race by harboring an unidentified supernatural being so their destruction is good for the world.” The President stated.
Ushar glared at the President, his jaws clenched for a moment before he spoke through gritted teeth, “I am that mysterious figure you see, I am the Breaker in the Seer mercenary and I really find no reason to let you live on.” He said and the President’s brows rose before a smile emerged on his face.
“Unfortunately, you might have had some chance at killing me if you had acted without even giving the dialogue a chance. If the senses of you supernatural beings are really as developed as you claim, you should have noticed a spaceship shooting into the sky some while ago - that’s me escaping into the moon and trust me, not even you supernatural beings have a chance of reaching there.” The President spoke without much change in expression before adding, “but I am really fascinated, why do you seem so emotionally attached to this Seer Mercenary, aren’t you supernatural beings supposed to see humans only as pitiful ants.” The president spoke.
“Pitiful ants, you are right, I do see humans like you as pitiful ants but not them. Now answer this last question and let’s get over this, why did you destroy the Synthetic Blood Facility, WHY?” Ushar shouted and this time, his eyes were fully black.
[Mental Control activated]
The President’s eyes turned dazed for a moment before the screen went blank.
“Did you just try to use your power on him through the screen?” Aria asked, looking at Ushar with bewildered face.
“Yes, it would work as long as I can see him, the distance doesn’t matter, but I guess he was prepared for even something like this.” He replied sighing.
“Now, I think we have all our answers except the very reason that brought us here.” Linda’s voice spoke in the duo’s ear and Ushar sighed again before going back into the car.
Prematurely, the Presidential Villa’s tour came to an end and the two were driving back to Aria’s house.
