GROWN

In the Blood Kingdom of the Underworld… Ushar was brought back to the present by terrified gasps from the humans as they were led towards a bridge in the distance. Underneath this bridge stood numerous flaming torches which extended on into the distance like a wall of flames. Ushar removed something from within his coat stared at it with a frown on his face. It was a black bucket hat which could be said that he had stolen from a particular girl, taking a whiff of the hat, Ushar sighed before waering it on his head. Even though he was not afraid of anyone discovering him, Ushar still wanted to avoid unnecessary problems. In a blur, he reached within the human crowd in an instant melding between them without anyone noticing. Ushar eyes looked over the humans, most were weak, sickly looking, and huddled together with no hint of hope of their faces. They had all been made perfectly aware of their situations and also made aware of the cruel reality that they had no choice. They were the sacrifice to ensure peace and order in the human world. He could also see some purple eyed vampires by the sides leading the humans on but even they had failed to notice anything and soon, they were being led over the bridge. On the bridge, Ushar’s brows rose as he saw a young man moving towards the group with a welcoming smile on his face. “My Lady, you don’t have to trouble yourself further, I will take over from here.” The young man spoke looking at a woman at the front of the humans. Without a word, the person being spoken to turned back towards the humans who stopped with visible tremble. Slowly, she perused through crowd when her golden eyes suddenly thinned. “Take over.” She eventually replied the young man, whose smile widened as he looked at the crowd and began speaking with a gentle voice. “Welcome, brothers and sisters, I am Dunn. I have been charged with leading you back to the human settlements where you will meet other humans. Please don’t be scared as our life here is not quite as bad as you might think it is.” He said before walking towards a lady in front of the group and taking her arm, “shall we?” he spoke gently and soon, both were leading the crowd towards the other end of the bridge. “He has grown into a fine man.” Ushar muttered, watching the departing back of the young man with a smile on his face. “That hat looks good on you.” He suddenly heard a voice from the side and Ushar’s brow rose. He however ignored walking on when a strong hand suddenly grabbed his shoulder and he stopped with an irritated sigh. “Would you mind lending it to me?” The voice spoke on. A tense silence prevailed for a moment before Ushar stared at the speaker. A woman with dark hair and a pair of golden eyes, she was in fact the royal vampire leading the group on earlier. “I thought you only liked bats, when did you start liking hats?” he asked and the golden eyes opposite him widened, greatly taken aback. The Vampire however recovered in a split second as her face hardened, “How do you know that? Who are you?” she asked, a golden glow emerging within her eyes and Ushar felt a slight tug on his mind. The Vampire was trying to use his mental control power on him. “Stop that crap Vera” Ushar said before removing the hat on his face, “your powers are still too weak to enthrall me.” He said with a smirk looking at the golden eyed vampire whose face slowly morphed from confusion, to surprise and then horror. “Ushar” Vera called after sometimes taking shaky steps back and Ushar shook his head, “can you just pretend we never met, I just came to check on my mother’s bone and father’s tomb?” Ushar said. Vera closed her eyes for a moment before opening them, now more composed. “Are you really just here to check on your dead parents?” She asked eyeing Ushar suspiciously. “What if I am not here just for that, what will you do?” Ushar asked back with amused smile. The vampire’s golden eyes hardened as she replied, “you already had your revenge, what else do you want from us?” Chuckling, Ushar removed a small red bottle from his chest, tearing off the lid and he took a swig before handing it to Vera. “As long as you can take a pint of this and not spit it back, I promise you my best conduct.” He said and the royal Vampire’s brows rose. Shrugging, she took the pack before releasing a small drop of its content onto her tongue when a smile suddenly appeared on her face. “How about this, I will drink the whole thing and you will not only promise me your best conduct, but you will also promise that, your best conduct will not cause any problem for the Kingdom?” She offered and Ushar smirked. Patting the Royal Vampire’s shoulder, Ushar put the bucket hat back on his head before turning back towards the human settlement and walking off. Behind him, the royal Vampire stared on with a frown before giving a resigned sigh. She was one of the Vampires who had attacked Ushar and his father but then, they had discovered how terrifying the Hybrid Prince was, she would rather not disturb Ushar anymore. Looking, at the pack in his hand, the Royal Vampire emptied its entire content at once before walking away from the human settlement. In front of Ushar however, the system had lit up.
