First Day 3

"So her baby bottles are in the cabinet above the sink and her baby formula is in the pantry." I say to Laura in a rush to get to work for the first time. "Thank you so much Laura, you don't understand how helpful you've been to me for these past months, thank you! thank you! thank you so much!" I say giving her a hug and a peck on the cheek.

I head towards the living room and bend over to give Thalia a kiss on top of her forehead.

"Be good for nana Laura baby girl, I'll be back soon" I whisper to her, it's the first time I leave Thalia with Laura alone to head off to my first day of work.

I head towards the front door of our little condo home and wave bye at Laura on my way out.

"Hey Conrad, I'm so sorry for the hold up it won't happen again I promise you" I say to Laura's husband

"It's fine Bella, we just opened don't be in such a hurry." Conrad says With a mischievous smile playing on his lips

Two days before I came into work I had practiced, I got a hang of it for a few minutes but since I brought Thalia along with me I didn't get too far. Today I just did the basics but the experience to work and be independent was gradually exciting for the first time in years.

I was in the back room organizing some files for different type of stones when I heard the bell chime above the door.

Immediately you can feel and smell the aura of a dominate male enter the store. My back stiffened at his scent, he smelled like woods and sweat. It was an erotic smell for a female wolf like me but I knew I couldn't avoid the customer on the other side of the counter for long.

"CONRAD!" I hear a deep masculine male voice that rips through my core. The feeling is electric even if the man didn't call my name, I could feel the power he holds in his voice.

The bell on the counter of the front office is rung aloud more than once and the sound hurt my sensitive ears.

"HELLO! ANYONE HERE!?" He shouts aloud once again

"I'M COMING!" I yell this time with an annoyed exasperated breath. I open the door to the back and head through the hallway that leads to the front counter.

The woodsy erotic smell hits my senses at full force every second I get closer and closer. I can feel his dominating presence suffocating the room.

The word mate leaves his mouth the second his green eyes meet my brown ones.

We stand there looking at each other for what seems like forever until I hear the bell chime from above the door again.

"Hey Seba-...oh" Conrad feels the tension in the air because his body structure goes rigid for a few seconds and he immediately composes himself.

"Bella... " at the sound of my nickname that Conrad stuck with since Laura first introduced me to him, my gaze drifts away from the tall muscular green eyed man.

"Yeah Conrad.?" I ask

"Nothing..nothing Bella...have you finished the files I gave you to organize..?" He ask giving Mr. Tall dark and handsome a skeptical look

"Yeah, I did I was just about to finish the last box." I say nervous that the green eyed man is still standing their and looking at the encounter between me and Conrad

"Well then..Isabella I'd like you to meet Sebastian Carter, Sebastian meet; Isabella Martin."

....

"LAURA IM HOME!" I shout as soon as I step through the door of the condo.

"IN THE KITCHEN!" Laura says

I see her in the kitchen with Thalia in her hands and trying to make her a bottle of milk.

"Hey Laura" I say giving her a peck on the cheek while taking Thalia out of her hands so she can finish preparing Thalia's bottle.

"Hi Bella, she just woke up no longer then two minutes ago" she says smiling

"Thank you Laura, I couldn't have done it without you" I say cradling Thalia to my chest

"Oh it's no problem sweetie really, I love taking care of the little one." she says looking at Thalia

I smile at her while she goes back to finishing Thalia's baby bottle.

"Hi baby, mommy missed you" I say giving Thalia a kiss on her nose

Laura hands me the baby bottle, warm with milk and I go and take a seat on the couch in the living room and have Thalia tucked in my arms and feeding her.

"So how was your first day of work?" Laura asked while reaching over and brushing over Thalia's dark brown baby hair.

"It was okay, I felt like I I didnt do much but I mean, I'm thankful you know? It's easy and I have you guys to help me." I say with a sweet smile

"Conrad didn't give you a hard time right? That man is a handful I tell you, I love him to death but he knows how to push my buttons." she says with a little laugh

"Oh no he didn't actually he was outback the whole time with this new order of granite rocks he has locked up, he was so fascinated when the shipment came in this morning" I say, then I remember that Conrad introduced me to Sebastian, "He also introduced me to someone, by the name of Sebastian.." I say remembering his gorgeous green eyes and tall muscular build.

"Aww you met Sebastian!? He's a great kid, always has been. I remember when he was a little kiddo, his dad and Conrad were great friends back in high school."

"He seems sweet .." I say blushing

"They've always been a sweet hearted family, a little on the strange side but they're all really great people."

"Conrad and Sebastian's father were something else in high-school. We went on double dates often and had big barbecues with their entire family almost every other weekend. They always seemed to celebrate some sort of event going on at the time." she said smiling. "I know its not my story to tell but Sebastian's dad past long ago and everyone in town was so heartbroken. I remember seeing his children torn. Sebastian was different after that, we didn't see him around as much and his mom even went away for a while." she sighed as she told me a little detail about my mates family. It was weird knowing a little part about him.

A ring is heard in the kitchen and Laura heads towards the table where her phone is while I take the bottle out of Thalia's mouth and lift her up slightly over my shoulder so I can burp her.

"Hello honey" Laura says, realizing its Conrad I try not to listen in on their conversation with my heightened senses.

"I'm at Bella's why, what did you need?" She says while walking into the living room

"Okay I'll be there in five, I love you." she says going to pick up her purse

"Conrad?" I ask lifting my eyebrow while patting Thalia on the back

"Yea he's like a hungry bear I swear one day I'll probably just leave him out in the woods." she says jokingly

I laugh aloud at her comment because even though Conrad drives Laura crazy I know she loves him deeply.

"Hopefully you'll get to meet them one day." she says going to kiss the top of my head and kissing Thalia's as well.

"I'll see you girls Monday!" She says while walking out the door

"Bye Laura." I say as she closes the door behind her

I stand up with Thalia still in my arms and head towards the door to lock it.

"What a small world." I say to myself while kissing the top of Thalia's little head.
