Clara was just coming home, when she saw her mom pacing the house. She was tensed and did not know what to do. Clara went to meet with her Mom. "Mom?" Clara politely inquired. Clara's mother turned around at once and her face went pale. "Clara, you need to sit down," she uttered, and chills ran through her spine. Not once had she heard such shakiness in her mother's tone. Clara's heart began to race. "What happened?" She knew that something had happened and it wouldn't be a good one. Linda drew in a deep breath before she spoke, her voice shaking. "Your father...he has been taken." Clara's mom managed to say. "How?" Clara asked. Clara's mom was shaking as tears dropped down her chicks, " the post delivery man brought a anonymous letter from the monarch of the Lycan community." she said. As Clara's mother revealed the shocking truth, to Clara the room began to spin, they were already after her. "Your father made a pact, Clara... with the Lycans. And now, you're also bound to them." Clara's world shattered, leaving her with a daunting question: what did it mean to be bound to them? Clara was unable to be comprehend the statement. "Taken" ""Lycan community" What do you mean?" Her. Mother shook herself head in an attempt to speak while weeping. "But do you know where Dad is?" Clara asked. " No, I just got the letter from the post delivery agent." Her mom said. Clara's world tilted as the weight of her mother's words was pulling her into confusing thoughts. Clara's father had never been in trouble with the Lycan. "How could that be, or is there something they are not telling me?" Clara thought. Her mind worked behind, there was a confusion. Her father may be killed. Surely it wouldn't be true. Her mind raced with thoughts. Clara had to understand why this had happened and where everything went wrong. Some days after, she started doing some investigation. She visited the police station since she didn't know where her father was. She spoke with friends and acquaintances, but all her inquiries only proved abortive. What Clara's father did was tied to matters of the Lycan, and connected him to a dangerous group, and now he wants to play smart. He don't want to go by the terms of the contract, and cannot let her daughter Marry a Lycan. Her mom couldn't bear it, her soft sobbing filled the house during the night. She couldn't believe what her husband was going through was as a result of a deal that was assumed to be harmless in the past but now it's harmful. Clara had no choice but to work through the puzzle all on her own. One evening Clara roamed through her father's papers in his office. Flipping through new-looking leaflets and notices some painfully written documents, Lycan pact, letters, other official forms, all in a language that really bore no meaning to her. She was glancing at different phrases until she came across some phrases that caught her eye: "pact," "covenant," and "Lycan." Her mind slowed down. "Lycan?" The word was heavy, sounded like something out of a fairy tale, and Clara had heard rumors of a "Lycan community" in her little village. It was not a myth; it was real. The papers bore her father's handwriting; they were in old ink, signed with a name that meant nothing to her, although it seemed of major significance in connection with what she was reading now. As Clara studied the papers, her heart raced. This was more involved than any simple business deal. This involved something dark that had bound her father and herself to something deeper than any dream could have achieved. The realization struck her: her father had made a deal with the Lycan community. A wrong deal, which she figured could now affect her. Clara's mind was dizzy with unanswered questions. One thing was for sure; her father's abduction had not happened simply by coincidence. What had gone wrong with the details of the deal? If it were so, that had ultimately robbed him of his freedom. While she was contemplating, there was a knock at the door. She hastily stuffed the papers in the drawer and stood up. Her heart pounding, for her mother stood in the doo. She was more anxious than ever. "Clara," she began, wringing her hands. "We need to talk. There's something you need to know." Clara's heart sank, she was scared of the implications. "What is it, Mother?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Yes, just barely a whisper. Her mother's eyes locked onto hers, filled with a mixture of fear and desperation. "It's about the Lycans," she whispered. "They're coming for you, Clara. Tonight." As her mother's words hung in the air, Clara heard the sound of footsteps outside, heavy and deliberate. The lights in the room began to flicker, and Clara's heart skipped a beat. "Who's there?" Clara's mother called out.
