Get Unstuck from Designing the Plot
1. Cement your ideas into your minds
Where did the hero and heroine meet?
Love and James first met in the streets. Love being heavily dunked and James had something important thing to do. The path crosses and the story begins.
How did they discover each others' identities?
The hero and heroine discovered each others' identities due to the process of their socialization and countless encounters, the truth should be told, the Homophobic and Love hater.
What were their first impressions of each other?
Love, hides his first impressions of James but reveals, he felt the care, he's longing for since then.
To James, he saw in the eyes of Love, the needs of love.
2. Add a Conflict
Love will know that James stepfather was his real father
3. Design a public event
Grand competition in Basketball is held annually composed of well-known universities in town.
4. Discuss with others
I am discussing this story with my co-writers as my way to receive constructive criticisms and also to prevent writers' block as I have lots of ongoing stories to finish.
Get Unstuck from describing story details
1. Place obstacles to the protagonist
Love's mother will get him from the Philippines and wanted him to study abroad.
2. Start with a minor accident, misunderstanding, question, or clue
The main characters easily get irritated and do some clumsy pieces of stuff.
3. Give the protagonist a task
-Seeing the bigger picture of his mother's plans
-Learn to love, respect, and be compassionate
-Learn to lend all help
-Don't blame others
These are the inner tasks that are about to achieve by, Love.
4. Use dreams or memories to advance the Plot
Revealing the past of both main characters in the story will help them understand each other's behavior that soon will be the reason for all the conflicts to be solved.
5. Use supporting characters
Irish Ponce
Ronniel Aquino
these two will be the supporting characters of love who fulfill everything that he could not. They will help Love to brighten his visions in life.
Non-Writing Adjustment
I have learned that for us to get productive and be on track is to schedule time to connect to the outside world. Sometimes, the reason why we felt loss is our inability to take a break and do some mindful activities outside writing.
