Heather's POV
I suddenly became aware of how lost I had been and I felt embarrassed immediately, without a warning, I pushed the door inward, catching Prince Keith completely off guard. He had been halfway through closing it, his expression a mix of annoyance and...something else I couldn't quite decipher in the dim light of his chamber.
"I didn't permit you to step into my room, Heather," he said, his voice low, a clear indication of his growing irritation.
"I know," I replied, my own voice surprisingly steady despite the adrenaline pumping through me. I pushed the door the rest of the way open and kicked it shut, the thud echoing a little too loudly in the space but I didn't care. "And I'm not stepping out until I know what is wrong with you, what is going on Prince Keith?”
