The morning sun filtered through the cabin windows, casting a soft, golden glow over the room. Isla and Teddy were nestled together on the couch, sipping coffee and enjoying the peaceful start to their day. The warmth of their rekindled relationship enveloped them, and for the first time in a long while, Isla felt completely at ease. Teddy looked at Isla, a thoughtful expression on his face. He seemed to be mulling something over, and Isla could sense his hesitation. “What’s on your mind?” she asked gently, setting her coffee cup down on the table. Teddy took a deep breath, his eyes meeting hers. “I’ve been thinking about us, about everything we’ve been through. And there’s something I want to know, something that’s been on my mind.” Isla felt a flutter of anxiety. “Okay, what is it?”
