Sweep Her off Her Feet

1062 Words
*Jay* Jay left and just drove around for awhile. She partly wanted to kill time, but she also needed time to think, free of Chris’s presence. He had always been persistent in going after what he wanted. His ambition was something Jay had always loved about him. She just didn’t understand or trust him coming after her here. Chris always said he would never leave their little town, but as soon as he had found out Jay’s whereabouts he packed up and followed? All the events seemed surreal. She was being kind, the two day drive here was exhausting for anyone to take alone. She didn’t want to make him jump on the road and drive right back. So, she had acquiesced to him staying for a few days. She wondered what Greg thought of her. Seeing Chris’s truck in the driveway must be what’s keeping him away, right? Or maybe it was just s*x to him, she reasoned. Not everyone saved their virginity until they were twenty-seven, or thought of s*x as a sacred act. Most people didn’t place much importance on s*x anymore. He had gotten her the air mattress but he’d just left it, to avoid her at all costs. He probably never wants to see me again. They were supposed to go to the notary, he hadn’t contacted her about that. Jay felt like that was her best hope at seeing him and explaining everything to him. She pointed her car towards home. Determined to be back in his arms at some point. The sooner the better. Her body was craving more. Back at home, Jay sat in the driveway for awhile. Chris had pulled his truck all the way to the back when Jay had left. Clearly, not planning on going anywhere soon. She watched Greg’s house. He was still home. And he seemed to be up as a few lights were on. She caught a glimpse of his shadow and decided to go next door. As Jay got closer to his door though, her resolve weakened. She ought to thank him for the things he had left, and they had business to deal with. With that she walked up to his door and gave it a rapid knock. Greg came to the door after what seemed forever, Jay was not prepared. Greg was shirtless, wearing only some basketball shorts and shoes. He must have been working out because he was drenched in sweat. “Hey, can I come in?” Greg’s expression was unreadable, but he stepped aside so she could come in. Jay moved towards the living room she did notice his decor. It was a bachelor pad for sure, but it was well kept. She turned towards him as she heard him move closer to where she stood. “I just came to thank you for the air mattress and other things. I appreciate it, today has been crazy.” He remained a wall. She couldn’t read him. Does he hate me now? “I bet it has.” Those four words were all he gave her and he continued to stare at her. Jay decided to try another way. “How was your day? I didn’t want you to leave.” Jay’s answer shocked him a bit. He made that face he made when he thought what she said was nuts. “Woulda been crowded.” Jay was no i***t, he was pissed about Chris. “I don’t want him there.” This response warranted another quizzical look, “Then, why is he there?” Before Jay could form a proper response in her mind, another knock at the door. Greg moved to answer it, and Jay used the opportunity to gather her thoughts. How can I explain Chris being there? For five nights? She was turning it over in her mind until she heard her name. Jay moved to the front door to find Chis dressed in a tuxedo holding a single red rose, and Greg standing there like he’d rather be anywhere but here. “Chris, what are you doing here?” She felt like she had asked him this far too much today. “My love, I waited for your return, then I saw you come here and I could no longer wait. So, I came to collect you.” Chris had never been the romantic type so Jay was visibly surprised. “Would you accompany me to a romantic dinner, prepared by yours truly?” The antics visibly annoyed Greg. Jay was embarrassed and had no idea what to do. Finally, she managed, “Gregg and I have some things to discuss, you’re interrupting.” AGAIN! Greg wanted to add but he said nothing. Never one to take no for an answer, Chris pivoted his approach. “My apologies, allow me to introduce myself I’m Chris, and as it is past business hours, I’ll have to demand that the business wait.” With that, he breezed past Greg, picked Jayne up, tossed her over his shoulder and walked out, ignoring her protests and Greg’s infuriated gaze. Jayne was livid. She was beating on his back demanding to be put down. “Christopher, put me the f**k down! What is wrong with you?” *Chris* Chris was determined to get Jayne back. He could not imagine his life without her by his side. They had known each other since they were fourteen. She was his. He had taken her virginity and he planned to show her all the ways they could enjoy each other tonight. He had messed up bad, he knew. He had hung out with the twins before, but that night it seemed like they were on a mission for him to f**k them. Twins! What man is passing that up? He was having the time of his life, until he saw Jayne’s mortified face in the doorway. He will never forget the despair in her weeping eyes. He had thrown the twins off him and chased her down naked. She wouldn’t talk to him. He was devastated. He saw her pull up and sit in the driveway. He had all his plans ready, and to his dismay, she got out the car and headed straight to her neighbors house. How could she know anyone already? She was there for too long so he went to get her.
