*Jay*
This is s*x! Whatever it was she experienced with Chris did not compare to this. She had never lost all reason in his arms as she had with Greg. She felt light and giddy. Especially, when the air mattress busted. Jayne couldn’t contain her laughter after she’d caught her breath.
They both lay where the mattress had deflated, and left them. The sun was shining and they talked and joked until they fell back asleep.
Loud and persistent knocking startled them both awake. The knocking would stop, then almost instantly start again.
They moved like they were stuck in molasses, gathering up their strewn clothes from around the room. Jay went towards the door while Greg beelined for the bathroom.
Jay must of looked like hell because she opened the door and screamed and so did he.
Jay slammed the door shut and locked it. “What the hell!” As soon as the door shut, he started insistently banging on it again. “Jaybae, open the door, we need to talk.” Jay turned to find Greg watching the scene. She couldn’t tell what he was thinking, as his expression was poker tight. “Are you alright?” Finally, dropped from his expressionless face. It was so low she barely heard it over the commotion on the other side of the door. Jayne’s eyes started to pool. This was her new start, why had her past tried to rob her of that? “I don’t know why he is here.” As she said this, as if he could hear their quiet conversation, “Jaybae, I’m not leaving until you at least talk to me!”
“Sounds like he’s here for you.” Greg offered easily.
“I-um I” Greg started to take a step forward then hesitated, “You don’t owe me anything, I’ll go out the back, let you handle your business.” Jayne had managed to silently mouth ‘I’m sorry,’ before Greg turned and unceremoniously left out the back sliding door.
Watching him leave made her body sag against the door. The elation she was feeling only a few moments ago, now a vapor. She had planned to spend the day with him. She wanted to explore s*x with him more. She wanted to cook and eat and make love until they had to go to the notary, then come back and do it again. Who knew Chris was a c**k block. From the reputation he had acquired, you would think he would be all about s*x.
Resigned that he was not going to stop banging on the door, she finally opened it again.
Chris’s face broke into a huge smile.
“My Jaybae. I missed you,” he moved to embrace her and she stepped back. Chris took that opportunity to step inside and shut the door. Jay continued to take steps back until she was almost in the hallway. This didn’t deter Chris. “Christopher, why are you here?”
“I miss my lil pound cake,” he said as he continued to advance toward her. “I’m not your anything anymore.”
“C’mon baby, don’t be like that.”
Jay remembered a time when that was all he would have to say and she would be in agreement with whatever he asked. “It’s over, you don’t love me. I don’t trust you.”
“I know Jaybae, but we can work on that.”
“I don’t want to.” This was exhausting. Jay realized she really just didn’t want to be bothered. “Chris, I have things to do, can you please leave?”
“Where would I go?”Jay furrowed her brows, “Home, I guess, to one of your hoes, I really don’t care. I live here now.”
“Well, I don’t have anywhere to go.” Chris was too much for Jay right now. She took several deep breaths, rubbed her neck, he was like dealing with a child. “Why can’t you go home, Chris?” She said trying to keep her patience. “I gave up my apartment. I live here now too…Surprise!”
