Chains clicked as I was dragged forward, torn and soiled. My wrist bound in front of me, I stood on the platform, my body bare under flickering light. The auctioneer listed my traits. “Young and beautiful, not a virgin, fiesty still.” Laughter ripples through the crowd. Men leered. I clenched my jaw.
