The taxi pulled up to Caesar's Palace and I reached into my purse for my wallet.
"It has been paid for," the driver said quietly.
I stared at him. "What did you just say?"
"The payment for the ride has been taken care of by an anonymous person. Bye, have a nice day!" He drove off before I could ask another question.
I stood on the sidewalk trying to process what happened. Who else would pay for my ride except David? He was trying to manipulate me again and I wasn't going to let it work.
