Chapter 5
Over the months since my return as Prince Jokhara, I have mastered the operating code system of my complex body. I know that if I want to run, all I have to do is think run and I will be caught away to my destination. If I desire that water floods a certain place I will just have to think it out and it is done. I stay in my apartment to monitor the movements of my earmarked victims by projecting into their lives and I hear their thoughts replay in my mind soon as I focus on them. The system gives me a massive advantage in my new life as Prince but yet I do not have to underestimate the capabilities of Princes Radia and Bosakia whose kingdoms are noted for highly rated sources of power more than our kingdom.
My kingdom of Water and Snow could easily be likened to the half kingdom of the Seventh Heaven where kindness reign except that in every place evil men would abound. It is partly the reason why our prince, the former Prince Jokhara was taken for granted, he was humane and jovial, kind, and gentlemanly. It is another reason I was warned that pity would destroy me if I permit it. It was simply a warning that what destroyed his image is not far from me, his reincarnation. Our kingdom couldn’t have presented their prince to fight in the combat if it were the real Prince Jokhara and we could have been despised by others forever and treated with disdain once the battle against the alien forces is won or lost.
So I wonder what this destiny is all about. Was it my destiny or a part of my destiny for my family to be destroyed that way so I can fulfill it? What is the purpose of destiny if the lives of others have to be so brutally terminated so it could be fulfilled? But it is all playing out before me that my destiny, which is the tragedy of my family, can only be fulfilled with the orchestrated events that saw my parents murdered, saw me taken to another world, and eventually died and reincarnated to become who I am now and to live the life I will tomorrow as champion and emperor of the universe. It is a reality, but a sad one as the reality of it paralysis me with hatred and almost leaves me destitute in the thought of it. But all the same, I have accepted it and I am living it out since it has started without my consent I will certainly fulfill it with my consent.
When everybody has gone to bed, I dressed up in all-black attire and stepped out of the house and stood in the patio of my private lodging where I have moved to and thought running to the north of my kingdom and to the house of the first nobleman I will destroy tonight. My body took me there in a moment and I stood in a corner observing the large building to detect any movement before I move in. I flew to the inside of the house and crouched in a dark spot, and then made straight for the doorstep of the nobleman, who is sleeping alone today without his wife so I can take him and his son without noise. I inserted my index finger to the doorknob and it serves as the key, it opened up to me and I walked inside and met him still awake.
When he saw a figure walked in he screamed but I closed the door behind me and told him to shut up and talk to me, shaking he sat and I took a seat facing him. I asked him some questions after my introduction since the dead don’t talk.
‘Listen, nobleman, I am Prince Jokhara, answer these questions and you might yet be spared.’ He was stricken with fear and still shaking violently but that is how it is, those who visit evil on others are often more afraid of the evil when it comes to them. But I shall have no pity.
‘Who planned the destruction of the Ithaca family?’
‘I was not a part, I only..’
‘I didn’t ask you if you were a part’, I cut him off. ‘I asked who masterminded it from the beginning.’
‘It is king Agorim and other nobles’, he confessed.
‘What were his reasons for doing that?’ I asked him.
‘So he will be king instead of Ithaca.’
‘And you all supported him?’
‘I did not; I was coarse into supporting the evil.’
‘Where is your son?’
‘Resting in his quarters as every child should.’
I turned from him and extended my arm towards the quarters of his first son, and it went through the bolted door and straight to where his son soundly sleeps and awakens him, took him in his sleep, and dumped him in his fathers’ laps still sleeping and the noble screamed but it avails him nothing.
‘You and all the nobles that destroyed the family of Ithaca shall equally be destroyed. I am never Prince Jokhara but the true son of Ithaca, and I take my sweet revenge’. Now his son was awake fully and both were terrified, the noble begging for his life but I proceeded to grab him with my teeth already protruded from my mouth as sharp fangs and I plunge them by the side of his neck as I infected him with vampire blood until he died. I did the same to his son and leaving their dead bodies there left and ran back to my quarters within the king’s palace.
The next morning it wasn’t until ten am the news reached the palace. The news of the gruesome death of the nobleman and his son shocked the king and the entire kingdom. Barely a week after the diner with the king such a tragedy could occur. Many point fingers to the aliens but the aliens have their time of invasion and their manner of killing isn’t this pattern, so who did this is what none could ascertain. But that was only the beginning as I will tonight carry out another death in the same region. I rested the whole day not desiring to be disturbed or even see the king for his murder of my family least I think anger towards him and consume him when it is not yet time.
Tonight I headed back to the north; the other noble living there wasn’t as wealthy as the one already killed. His home gives a free access and I wonder why his simplicity shouldn’t have reflected in his thoughts to eschew evil and not partake in it. I simply went to his door and let myself in, his wife slept soundly beside him and I woke him up, he woke with a shout but my hand was fast in his mouth. I lifted him from the bed like a paperweight and immediately remembered how the Iglobins lifted me as well. I took him out and place him on the earth of his home. He was shaken with fear, begging to know what he has done I squatted beside him to interrogate him briefly.
‘Nobleman, be calm, and answer my questions, you might yet live. Who planned the death of nobleman Ithaca and his family?’ He seemed to be shocked at the direction of the question.
‘It is our king’, he answered quickly.
‘Why did he have to do that?’
‘He wanted the kingship so badly and to let Ithaca have it will be too late for him.’
‘And you all supported him?’
‘He deceived me.’
‘He did that to your death nobleman.’
‘Please do not kill me, I will do anything you desire’, he pleaded.
‘But will that bring back Ithaca’s family? Now, where is your son?
‘You mean my only son?’
‘Yes, your only son, I mean.’
‘He is resting as every child should’, he said as a man freed.
I extended my arm beyond where he sat and straight to his son’s room, near his and brought him out with sleepy eyes and placed him in his father’s laps.
‘Nobleman, I am the son of Ithaca, but now I am Prince Jokhara to avenge my family’s death which you nobles perpetrated against us. You and your son shall die for the part you played’.
‘But’ he said, Ithaca’s family is all gone. How does king Agorim’s son become Ithaca’s son?
‘You have the answer in the land of the death, noble.’
From the position I was, I put out my two extended hands and secure their necks, father in the right and son in the left, and have them strangled before me until their bodies became limp and I confirmed them dead before I left for the palace. Again, the next morning the news of the death of another noble and his son spread throughout the kingdom and many shudder at the strange happenings in the kingdom. The king is beyond shock and warned me not to venture out except with guards and that I do concerning the king, my father during the day to console bereaved families on the behalf of the king.
The third night took me to the south of the kingdom where I am the reigning prince and sat on a lonely part watching the inhabitants of the beautiful kingdom of Water going about their business and when it was dark I moved fast into the home of the third noble, south of the kingdom. He lives in affluence and has guards in his palatial home. I went to the room and hover over the big house like a hawk, I noticed two guards stationed closed to his quarters and the rest at the entrance, they were armed with shorthand guns. Those at the entrance won’t have to worry about me; the two at his quarters have gotten into trouble with me tonight. So I reached out my hands and took them by the necks and lifted them to my face and they screamed in terror at the same moment I threw them out of the yard and I moved in fast.
I entered the noble man’s bedroom and found him relaxed and snoring. I woke him up violently and landed a hand across his face that brought him back to life. He opened his eyes to find me staring at him, and I think he lost his voice but pleaded with gestures till his voice came and he said,
‘Who are you please, what have I done to you?’
‘You conspire with your king to destroy Ithaca’s family. Is that a righteous deed nobleman?’ His facial expression read shock and I said, ‘speak’.
‘It is King Agorim’s idea. He was behind it all. I had no part.’
‘Yes, he hatched it but you followed him all the way to murder an innocent man. All of you shall pay.’
‘But you are Prince Jokhara, why fight for Ithaca?’ he asked, and the first to recognize me before I introduce myself.
‘Good you asked. I am Ithaca’s son, your Prince is missing. I have come to revenge the destruction of my family. All who took part shall die.’ And in more shock, he said,
‘You killed the nobles in the north’, he said in true realization, and with that, he brought out a sword from under beside his bed but I laughed.
‘Likewise, you all, and you first sons shall die and the last shall be king Agorim and I acted swiftly by disarming him and asking him his son’s whereabouts and he declined by saying,
‘You shall not have him, you are evil. King Agorim shall hear this.’ I knocked him down violently, and I extended my hand towards where his son slept, I found him and I lifted him and presented him before his father. Now he shouted and started to plead for his life and son. But I paid him no thought and sprung two ropes and have their necks secured in them and hung them on the basement of his door till they died and I let myself out through the entrance sending all the guards scampering as I walked through in the form of a leopard and on to the palace in the west.
