a d o n i s News has spread far and wide that the daughter if late billionaire, Luigi Conti is pregnant for a man that isn’t her fiancé and the world is so ashamed of her. What will they say when they find out that the man responsible is the one who was supposed to be protecting her fiancé. The bodyguard. Adonis Only if they knew. … Athens, Greece. “Theo, the doctor said I have less than a year to live and you know how bad I want to hold my grandchild in my arms. I also want you to find a good girl and get married to her. I know that you are pissed about how your father and grandfather’s lives ended. I know you want revenge so bad but this is going to cause war. I want nothing but for you to be happy. Please consider all of the things that I have told you.” My mother says, looking at me with pleading eyes. I think that it is a little too late. I wish I could bare my soul to her and tell her all of the things that I have done. She’d be so shocked and disappointed. She always did everything she could to make sure that I did not become like my father. She did not want me caught up in the business even though she and my father fought so many times. I am too far gone to just let it all go. I am my father’s son and I am going to see my plan through. “It really is not that easy to just bring a woman home and say that I want to marry. People know who I am so anybody and everybody will want to marry me.” I say to her. “Oh, Theo.” She says with pitiful eyes, placing her right hand on the scar that runs down from below my left eyes to my left cheek. “There are so many beautiful women.” I roll my eyes at her response. I wish she would just let it be but my mother has never been like that. One would think that cancer and chemotherapy will change her and calm her down a little bit but she has become more vocal about the things that she wants. Maybe it is because these are her last days. This year happens to be the last full year that she will be around and that breaks my heart so much. I have spent so much but the cancer was so advanced that the timeline for her to live was already declared. “How do I know the one that is genuine?” I ask her. “You remember my friend, Sophia? She used to come to visit us when you were very young. She married an Italian and moved out of the country. They have a beautiful daughter who is a medical doctor. She is perfect, Theo. I think she is the best fit for you. She is a very good woman. I think that the both of you will have very beautiful children. Just say yes and I will be the happiest person on the planet.” I stare at her. How do I tell her that I have a plan and everything is already going well? How do I tell her that one of the things I had to do was get a particular woman pregnant? Not just any woman. A particular woman. I think the best thing to do is to keep my mouth shut until everything works out. I will hate it if everything just comes crashing down when it has yet to be finalized. “I will think about it, mitera.” I smile at her, taking her small, wrinkled hand in mine and rubbing my fingers on the back of them, giving her a little bit of hope. It breaks my heart that I am lying to her but one thing that my father told me before he died was that if we wanted to be great people and do great things, there were painful things that you had to do. In this case, I think that the painful thing that I am having to do is lying to my mother and giving her hope that I will marry her friend’s daughter when I know full well that I am not going to. “I will be the happiest person in the world when you marry Athena. I can’t wait to break this news to her.” She says, happily and I face palm because that was not what I told her. “Mitera, I said I was going to think about it. Look, there is so much going on right now and Athena is not on the top of my list. I only said I was going to think about it. Don’t get too excited.” I tell her. If only she knew. My mother has never been the best person when it came to reading people’s minds. If there was ever a time that I was grateful for that, I think it will be now. “You will marry her. Come, my son. You look so skinny. Don’t tell me that you have not been eating well. What have they been feeding you in Italy? I will tell Anna to cook up something really nice for us for dinner. You need to eat so that you and Athena can have beautiful and strong children.” Here I was being a bit thankful that she had stopped talking about me getting Athena pregnant. “I am very hungry.” I tell her and place my hand on my belly. I just need her to stop talking about Athena. “Don’t worry, dinner is going to be very nice.” Mitera informs me and I smile. I lean over and kiss her on her cheek. Her hair is falling off and she looks so frail and delicate. She has become a shadow of herself. I wish there was someone I could blame for this one so that I will go on my second revenge quest. My phone rings in my pocket. Fishing it out, I stare at the name on the screen and it dawns on me that this is not a phone call I can answer here. Mitera will be so heartbroken. I do not want her to know that her only son has become such a demon. “Mother, I have to take this call. I will be with you shortly.” I tell her before I make my way the balcony. Very far away from every earshot. I look around me to see if there is anybody going or coming. When I am very certain that there is nothing like that, I pick up. “Lorenzo, what is going on?” I ask him, going straight to the point. “You need to speed up whatever it is you are doing in Greece and come back to Italy so that you can finalize the plan.” He says, urgency is very evident in his voice. “Why? What is the rush?” I know I have to be very swift with all of this but I need to know why Lorenzo is telling me this. “Serafina’s life is in danger back home. I would have pretended that the pregnancy was mine until the plan was done with but she just had to open her mouth and tell them that I was not the father. Massimo locked her up in the basement of his house and he is torturing her to tell him who the father is. She is keeping mute. All she is saying is that she does not regret anything that she has done.” “What?” I ask because I am in shock. All of this has happened within the span of one week. “That is not even all. They want her to abort the baby since the pregnancy is still in its early stages. They threaten her everyday.” “Wait, aren’t you supposed to be the fiancé? There should be something you can do. I am paying you. You should not sit there and watch them do all of these things to her. Of what use are you to me if you can’t do these basic things?” I ask, angrily. I am literally on the verge of tearing this whole place down. None of those fools have the right to touch her or harm her. “Look, Theo, I tried. I tried to play the protective fiancé. I went to Massimo’s house so many times but the old f**k pointed a gun at my head and told me to stay out of it. He said that my duty was to marry Serafina and continue her father’s legacy and that I was doing such a s**t job at that because I allowed her to open her legs for another man. There was no way in hell I could have pointed a gun at his head and told him to leave her alone. The whole of Italy will be coming for me.” The man tells me and hearing his voice is just pissing me off so damn bad. I am literally paying this man a whole lot of money. “You are very useless.” I tell him before ending the call. I need to speed up all that I came here for. … I stare at the footage on display before me. All of these are live videos of all the things that are happening in Massimo’s house right now. Massimo is currently in his bedroom, sucking the p***y of a cheap w***e. About thirty minutes ago, he was in the basement of his house, landing hard slaps and punches across Serafina’s face and yelling harsh words at her. He called her a disgrace and cursed her late mother, saying that he wishes her father had taken his advice all those years ago and had actually convinced Serafina’s mother to abort the baby that she was carrying. He also forcefully immersed her head in the big tub of water in the basement and left her there until she was seconds away from drowning. When she refused to confess the name of the man who got her pregnant, he fished out a whip and hit her across her belly. From what I can see, Serafina looks a mess. Massimo has definitely bitten a lot more that he can chew. I want to be emotional in my approach to this but doing things based off of emotions has never gotten me anywhere. I have to stick to the plan. The plan here is to not make a grand entrance. If I were to go with my emotions, I would barrel through these gates in my truck and the whole neighborhood is going to be in pandemonium and Massimo would hear about it and that is not something that I want. I want to get to him before he figures out that I am here. I get out of the truck and make my way to the gate. “Unlock the gate.” I say to a guard standing there. “Sorry, what?” He asks me. I don’t think I put water in my mouth when I spoke. I was loud and f*****g clear. I pull out my gun and immediately, he types in the passcode, giving me access into his house. I pull my trigger and blow the guard’s brain out. I don’t need anybody interrupting me. I make my way into the house and head straight to the staircase that leads to the fucker’s room. I break the door down and the hoe that he is f*****g gasps and screams in shock. “What the f**k?” He yells, pushing her off of him and jumping to his feet. His eyes land on me and he reaches into his drawer immediately. I fire at his arm and he groans in pain. “Get out or I shoot you.” I tell the w***e whose voluptuous breasts are exposed and her n*****s hard. She stares at me with fear in her eyes before she runs out of the room. All the while, Massimo is groaning in pain. “Lorenzo sent you here to save his b***h, isn’t it?” He groans in pain, holding unto the arm that I shot at. I laugh. If only he knew. “Step out of the room” I order and he laughs. “Don’t make me force you. Things can get really ugly.” I tell him and he does not move. I go to where he is and pull him down before kicking his abdomen really hard. He screams. “Now step the f**k out!” I command. He does not hesitate this time around. Blood is dripping as he moves. “Head to the basement.” I tell him and he does so. When we get there, he stills. “Open the f*****g door.” I instruct and he stares at me as though that is something that he would never do. “I can’t do that. Luigi told me to discipline Serafina if she f****d up. Can you imagine that she slept with a man when her father has not even been buried and she was yet to even be officially be engaged to Lorenzo. She is such a shame to her father and she needs to be taught a lesson.” He tells me and I get tempted to pull the trigger at his second arm but the man is already losing a lot of blood and he can’t die. Not yet. “Don’t make me ask again, Massimo. I am being really calm with you but I swear, if you say s**t, I’ll make you pay for everything that you have done.” He studies me for a minute before digging his hand into his pocket and bringing the keys out. He opens the door and I order for him to get in. Serafina screams as soon as she sees him. When she looks up and her eyes land on me, hope washes over her face and she smiles. She looks tired but happy to see me. “I think that it is insane that you came to save this prostitute.” Massimo says. I walk over to where he is and grab him by his shirt before I begin to punch him. I punch him until a tooth flies and blood is dripping from his mouth. He goes unconscious and drops to the ground. I head to where Serafina is tied up in a chair and I begin to untie her. “Adonis, I have missed you. You were not returning my calls and my texts. I thought you had left me.” She tells me all this as I make quick work of the rope. As soon as she is free from the confines of the rope, she runs into my arms and kisses my chest. “I wanted to tell you that I was pregnant and that I am so in love with you.” She looks up and stares at me.
