  OLIVIA   “Olivia, you’re hiding something from me.”   It was Jessica, her voice low and her gaze giving me a knowing look.   When I was getting ready for work, I checked the marks on my neck and chin. It had been two days, and the red marks had faded considerably. However, with my fair skin, they still left a visible trace. Even after applying foundation, the marks remained—a lingering reminder of the previous night.   I wrapped a silk scarf around my neck to cover the marks and applied a thicker layer of concealer on my chin, hoping no one would notice.   Unfortunately, it didn’t escape Jessica’s sharp eyes.
