I glanced around at the group, and they all exchanged knowing looks. I shook my head, already knowing what was going through their minds. Their reactions to the news about Matthew being involved with a married woman said it all.
Of course, it’s illegal. What kind of dumb question did I even ask?
The room fell silent. No one spoke. Even though they were my friends, none of them would dare challenge me. Not just because of my background, but because I was the one in our group who had the most influence and capability. I might not have taken over the company, but I still wield significant power. I could easily start my own business, and if I wanted to, I could bring any company to its knees.
