  NOAH   Around nine in the morning, a doctor came in to make rounds.   He wasn’t the one who treated me last night. This one looked younger, his expression focused as he stepped into the room and checked my chart.   I remained still on the bed, only half-aware of their conversation, my throat still raw and my body heavy with lingering discomfort.   The doctor turned his attention to Olivia.   “Good morning,” he said. “I’m the attending physician on duty today.
