The next day came around, and I got up at four-thirty in the morning. I was not in the mood to put up with anyone's crap this week and neither was Max. I got up and changed into my training clothes, which were a gray and pink sports b*a and matching sports pants. I pulled my hair up into a small ponytail and walked out of my room; I never train in shoes because I like to feel the ground beneath my feet when I go outside.
I walked out of my bedroom, which is on the second floor of the pack house, and through the hallway to the stairs that went downstairs. I walked down to the kitchen and grabbed an apple and a bottle of water; after I ate the apple, I walked to the back door. "Hey there Mika." I froze when I heard his voice. It was the Alpha's son, who was going to turn eighteen in a week. "Hi there, Cade." I said as I crossed my arms "Shouldn't you and some hussy be in bed?" I asked as I stepped to the door; he wasn't even eighteen yet. He was already a man w***e, and no one seemed to care. 'Glad we aren't his mate,' Max said to me, and I agreed with her on that. "Don't talk to me like that Mika." He said in a snarky tone, and I just started to laugh, "You are not Alpha yet, Cade, and I'm older than you, so pissed off." I said as I walked out the door, I hated the brat.
When I stepped outside, I shut the door behind me walked off of the porch, and just took off running as I listened to birds that were waking up and the other animals. After I had run a good lap around the territory, I shifted into Max and let her run and hunt for her breakfast. I always like to listen to the animals in the mornings when I feel like training; the week before my birthday, I always feel like crap. 'We will find our mate, Mika, ' Max says to me as she stops at the lake in the clearing. 'Yeah, I know, Max, we will just have to find another way.' I said to her as we lay down in the nice cool grass, and we fell back to sleep in the spot where we were lying because it was calming.
'MIKA! MIKA! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!' Came my mother's worried voice through my mind-link, and I woke up. 'Mom, me and Max are fine. We are. Fine, we went out for a run and then fell asleep next to the lake in the pack.' I mind-linked her back .'Alright, sweetie, well come back home. Breakfast is ready' ' she said to me as Max woke up and we made our way home.
When we got home, I put on a pair of basketball shorts and a huge T-shirt that had been in the bushes for when we shift and rip our clothes. After I put them on, I walked into the house. My dad and the Alpha greeted me, and I bowed my head to them. "Alpha, dad morning," I said to them, "Come to my office after breakfast, Mika." Alpha said, and I nodded my head. "Yes, sir," I said as I walked into the kitchen and sat at the table; my mom set my plate in front of me, and I started to eat; she had a worried look on her face. 'What did you do?' She ask through the mind link and I let out a sigh 'I pissed off Cade, I'm tired of putting up with his shit.' I mind linked her back and she just shook her head at me, I wasn't worried what the Alpha was going to do to me, I was going to move out of the pack house and going to share a house a house with my best friend who is the head warrior's daughter. It was going to be till I found my mate and we was going to find a way to help me do that.
After I got done with breakfast I went to the Alpha's office. "Mika what was your deal?" He ask me as I sat down in a chair in front of his desk "Cade stopped me on my way for my run." I said to him and I looked at him dead in the eyes "Cade is going to be your Alpha in a week" Alpha said to me and I rolled my eyes at him "A week, sir" I said to him "I answer to you, not that man w***e of a son of yours." I said to him as I got up out of the chair "MIKA! THAT IS UNCALLED FOR!!" He roared "YOU WILL WORK IN THE KITCHEN FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS!" He yelled at me "Yes sir" I said to him as I walked out of his office. I wanted to laughed at him, he thought that making me work in the kitchen for two weeks was going to change anything well its not going to.
