I stared at him in disbelief. "Lucas, these photos are fake, aren't they?" I gave him the performance of my life, playing the part of a wife shattered by betrayal. Lucas hurried over, snapped the laptop shut, and pulled me into his arms. I clutched his shirt, my voice trembling. "They were AI-generated, weren't they?" He looked at me with practiced tenderness.
