The cruise ship finally docked back at the mainland as the sun broke through a hazy morning sky. The air was warm, carrying the scent of saltwater and city smog. After a long wait in the customs line — and a few curious glances aimed at their very large new companion — Nate finally led Alexia, the twins, and Christopher down the ramp toward the parking area.
