Lyla POV
“Lyla?” I felt someone shake my shoulders. Opening my eyes, I was met with a set of dark brown orbs.
“Trent… when did you get back?” I asked, looking around to get my bearings. Looking up into Trent's face, I found myself not for the first time admiring his handsome features. Short, jet black hair fell to just above his jaw line framing his strong facial features. He towered over my 5ft 5' stature at around 6ft. His arms were both covered in intricate tattoo designs that traveled all the way to his back and torso. And those hands... shaking my head, I refocused on what he was saying.
“Only 5 minutes ago, it was a long night. Hey, are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Trent looked down at me with worry filled in his eyes.
"Yeah, I just dreamt another memory is all," I sighed.
"Another one... that's the 3rd one this week. Maybe it's time we went to see the witch at the edge of the village. It can't be normal for your memories to start infiltrating your dreams now of all times," Trent said as he stroked a hand across his stubble.
“Maybe you're right, but let's talk about that later. What did you find out last night?" I asked, noticing the dark circles under his eyes.
"He's looking for you," Trent stated simply.
"Yes, we know that, that's nothing new, so why do you look so dreadful?" I tilted my head, narrowing my eyes.
Trent sighed loudly, running his hand through his hair "jeese you really know a way to a man’s heart. He’s increased his efforts and has deployed the elites. That includes the twins, by the way," squinting as he lowered his face to look at me.
Keeping my facial expression neutral, I ask "so?"
"So... they're already closing in. It's only a matter of time before they knock on the door. We have to come up with a game plan and fast," he says as he turns to face the fireplace still alight from the night before. Shadows appeared along his face as he contemplated what to do.
"I already have a plan," I stated, simply waiting for the reaction I knew was coming.
"What? And when, pray tell, were you going to enlighten me about this plan?" he exclaimed, turning back to me.
I knew he and the others weren't going to like my plan, which is why I'd waited until the last moment to mention it to him.
"I will explain it when we are with the others. Where are they?" I said, looking at my nails. I desperately needed to get a manicure. All the killing I've done of late has left them looking pitiful.
Trent growled as he stalked back over to me. Looking into his eyes, I was met with bright golden circles. I knew his werewolf was an impatient beast so it wasn't surprising he had pushed through.
"Why hello Dagon, I must say it's been a while since you decided to come out and play. We have so much fun you and I," I winked, which earned me a louder growl.
"Don't play games with me little girl. You know I'll win every time. I know just what to do to have you moaning and begging under me. Is that what you want?" the words came out low and guttural causing a shiver to make its way down my back and to my core.
I rubbed my thighs together for friction as the smell of my arousal filled the air around us.
"You know exactly how to get a girl excited," I grinned pushing forward to nip at his bottom lip.
“Punishment is what you need for with holding your plan. I know just the thing,” he smirked down at me while I traced my finger along his lips.
“That sounds tempting. I’m at stickler for punishment,” with that I grabbed both of his shoulders bringing him down on top of me.
