The smell of antibiotics and something else I couldn’t describe filled the air.
I opened my eyes slowly and blinked rapidly, wondering where I was.
It took a few seconds before I was able to feel that my body was in pains. My head felt heavy, my chest tight and my ribs screamed at me. My right arm felt heavy, numb at the shoulder and I felt as though it was wrapped tight in something stiff.
It felt as though I was in a hospital, but at the same time, looking at the single bulb that hummed faintly above me, I was certain that I was at a home.
