Cuco’s pov; I kept my head down as I was led back to the yard. “Well, what did you two discuss? He said he was going to get you a lawyer by himself,” the warden grinned. “Looks like you’ll be out of here in no time.” I ignored him, but he keit talking. “I hope you forgive me for the past,” he grinned again, flashing his brown teeth. “I had no idea that you’re well connected. How did you know Moss? He’s a huge legend around!” I glanced at him at that. Was detective Moss that great? The inmates were just beginning to leave the yard when I arrived, but I could still feel several pairs of eyes on me, but this time, it was different. It wasn’t admiration or respect, but something else. Something else I couldn’t understand. They were whispering, glancing at me and whispering to themselves.
