Alex's POV
I did my best to listen as the teacher taught something about Chemistry that I didn't fully understand.
We did practicals in the lab while the teacher explained.
Guess who I was paired with? Justin.
I kept looking at the door, hoping Emerald would walk through it. Her presence would make my day.
This is our third class for the day yet I hadn't seen her.
After the first period, I looked for her everywhere yet I found no sight of her.
I started to get worried.
I asked the staff at the reception about her presence in school. The receptionist told me she was present in school yesterday but she hasn't checked in today yet.
My worries increased when she said that.
Is she okay?
Could she be sick?
