I took a deep breath as I stood nervously outside Alex's front door.
Tonight is the night of the dinner with Luna Cathy.
I've never been this scared of anything or anyone in my entire life.
This dinner has the power to determine me and Alex's future.
I know Alex doesn't care much about what his mom thinks but I do.
I believe she has some sort of say over his life. She can also influence The Council.
If The Council doesn't want us together then there's nothing we can do.
I have to make a good impression. Maybe I can change her mind by showing her that I'm a good match for Alex.
I tightly clutched the bag I held in my hand. I got a gift bag for Alex's mom.
