Alex's POV
The weight of responsibility hung heavily on my shoulders as I sat in my room, deep in thought.
The recent string of murders within our pack had left me restless. I was consumed by a mix of emotions. I felt angry, confused and sad at the same time.
As the Alpha, it was my duty to protect my pack. So far, I haven't been able to do anything about it.
These acts of violence have everyone on edge. People no longer feel safe even in the pack.
Can I blame them?
There's a murderer on the loose and we don't have a single clue of who he is.
Right now, the only person who can put me in a good mood is the lovely girl beside me – Emerald.
Emerald sat beside me on the bed. Her presence alone has helped to soothe my mind. I feel at peace whenever I'm with her.
