Emerald's POV I stood at the kitchen sink at home. The warm water and sudsy bubbles caressed my hands as I mindlessly scrubbed a plate. The rhythmic clinking of dishes provided a steady background to the whirlwind of thoughts in my mind. I stared outside as I absent-mindedly held the cup in my hand. I took time to admire the sight in front of me. The sun was setting outside, casting a warm, orange glow inside the kitchen. As I stared at the beautiful sight, it reminded me of someone. Alex. His name echoed in my mind repeatedly. Any time I close my eyes, I see his face. I remember how our eyes had in class today. The fact that I ignored him made my heart ache. I still recall how disappointed he looked when I turned away. I remember the look on his face when he kept looking
