Chapter 4 One-night Stand

Scarlett subconsciously covered her chest and turned around.
"Scarlett! Did you do it on purpose? I asked you to wash my clothes, but you dyed…" Her sister Emelia Reed walked in angrily, but when she saw the obvious red marks on her chest, her roar abruptly stopped!
Emelia viciously stared at her with her eyes full of sarcasm and said in a frivolous tone, "Scarlett, I mistook you. You turn out to be very open. If I remember correctly, you’re single, right? Did you have a one-night stand last night? Or did you become a w***e? You don't look bad. How much did you charge your customers?"
Her satiric words sounded particularly harsh in Scarlett's ears.
Scarlett hurriedly put on her loose pajamas, held back her anger, and said, "Emelia, this is my bedroom! Get out!"
Emelia sneered, folded her arms over her chest, and said with an arrogant look, "You asked me to get out? Who do you think you are? This is my home! If my mother hadn't taken you in out of kindness, you would have long become a mistress like your shameless mother. You have no say in this family! Gee, you are as slutty as your mother! Shame on you!"
Hearing Emelia's curse, Scarlett flew into a rage like an erupting volcano.
Her mother had always been her sore point.
She was deceived by her married father in her prime and got pregnant out of wedlock.
She endured the gossip, gave birth to her, and raised her.
Over the years, her mother had a lot of admirers, but she rejected all of them and never messed around with men.
Her mother was her heroine, so she would not allow anyone to slander her!
Scarlett's eyes turned red with anger, and she rushed toward Emelia, slapped her in the face, and shouted, "Shut up! My mother is not that kind of person! I don't allow you to slander her like that! "
Emelia widened her eyes and glared at Scarlett after the sudden slap.
Soon, she pounced upon Scarlett with a ferocious look and shouted, "How dare you slap me? I will beat you up today!"
"Enough! Stop!"
The quarrel between Scarlett and Emelia drew Kenny Reed and Wendy Finger over.
After Kenny stopped them from fighting with the roar, he glared at Scarlett without asking why, saying "Scarlett, why did you slap your sister? What’s the matter with you?"
Relying on Kenny's support, Emelia rolled her eyes at Scarlett and complained, "Dad, I found Scarlett went out to fool around with men last night, so I scolded her out of kindness, but she flew into a rage and slap me. Look at my injury. You must teach her a good lesson!"
"Dad, I didn't do it!"
Emelia was distorting the truth! Scarlett burst up and slapped her because she humiliated her mother.
She wanted to defend herself, but before she could finish her words, Emelia interrupted, "You didn’t do it? Why do you have those marks on your body? Did you make them by yourself? Scarlett, since you dared to go out to fool around with men, you should have the guts to admit it!"
"I…"
Scarlett didn’t know how to refute Emeli, so she could only bow her head in silence.
She did have lost her virginity, and she didn’t know how to explain it.
Seeing her acquiesce, Wendy sneered and taunted, "You stayed out all night to fool around with men at such a young age! What will you become in the future? Your mother seduced my husband and had a child out of wedlock. You grew up with such a woman. No wonder you did such a thing. But the Reeds are all decent people! If this is spread out, your father will be disgraced!"
After she added fuel to the flame, Kenny got more furious and roared, "You wicked girl! How dare you do such a thing! It's a shame! Scarlett, you really disappointed me!"
Seeing Wendy and Emelia gloating, Scarlett felt very sad as if her heart had been heavily squeezed.
But her biological father scolded her out loud instead of defending her and her mother.
Was it all her mother’s fault?
With tears in her eyes, Scarlett said in a choked voice, "Dad, if you didn't conceal your marriage from my mother back then, she would not have gotten pregnant! You think we are shameful now, but why couldn't you control yourself in the first place? It's all your fault!"
Her mother was just the victim.
Kenny had deceived and abandoned her, and then, he had returned to his family as if nothing happened.
But her mother was trapped in the shadow all her life. She had never gotten married, raised her alone, and was utterly isolated by her family and friends.
When Scarlett was fifteen years old, her mother had fallen ill from exhaustion and could no longer work. She was afraid that she could not pay Scarlett’s tuition fees or take care of her anymore, so she had sent her to the Reeds. Otherwise, she would not have had anything to do with the Reeds at all!
Scarlett's words angered Kenny.
Snap!
He slapped her hard in the face.
Kenny was fuming with anger, and he pointed at the door with a trembling finger and said, "Scarlett, get out of here!"
Feeling the burning pain in the cheek, Scarlett tiled her head.
When tears welled up, she covered her red and swollen cheek and rushed out the door without looking back.
After Scarlett left, Wendy held Kenny's arm and kept smoothing him, saying, "Kenny, calm down. Anger will do harm to your health. It's not worth it. Scarlett has been raised by her mother, so you should have long known she will become like this. She is just an outsider. You still have Emelia, so you don’t need to care about her."
After Kenny heard her words of comfort, his anger subsided a little bit.
When Wendy suddenly thought of something, a glimmer of light flashed across her eyes, and she said, "Isn't Mr. Grimes of the Grimes Group interested in Scarlett? Since she has lost her virginity, why don’t we let her have dinner with him and help us get that project?"
Hearing this, Kenny narrowed his eyes and began to scheme.
At the same time, in the villa of the Wades, Chris sat on the sofa with a gloomy face and asked coldly, "Have you caught that woman?"
One subordinate replied with caution, "Mr. Wade, we blocked several major streets around the villa and searched all the places nearby, but we didn't find her."

He did not believe he was unable to find her in Springfield!
