Chapter 18“He’s out of surgery but still in critical condition. I guess his shoulder was pretty torn up and they’ll have to rebuild it when the swelling goes down,” Cam said into the payphone. “I guess the bullet missed a lot of stuff but there’s still a lot of bone that’s shattered. Sonya and Will are in with him right now. I should go back up in a minute. I just thought I’d better check in with you.” She’d called Maggie just a few minutes after Nick had been transferred from the recovery room to ICU.
“I’m glad you did, sweetie. I still haven’t been able to get in touch with Pauly. I’ll keep trying. Hang in there and let me know what’s going on. Deems will be very interested in all that’s happened.” Maggie sighed.
