Chapter 21Ralphie looked up and down the corridor. No one seemed to notice him. The nurses at the front desk never looked up. He quietly walked to Nick’s room and looked in. Sonya still sat beside the bed, reading some papers. She looked up as he entered.
“How did it go?” she asked quietly.
“Good and bad,” he answered.
She looked up at him. “‘K’?” she queried.
“Done.”
She nodded her approval. “And the bad?”
“Will is, too.”
“What?!” She stood. Looking at her brother to make sure he hadn’t been disturbed by her outburst, she took Ralphie by the arm and ushered him outside the room.
“And Cameron?” she asked, when she’d made sure they were out of anyone’s hearing range.
“A little shook up but she’s fine. She brought me here but she’s staying in the car. I think she wanted to throw up.
