Chapter 28Maggie’s private phone rang on her desk. She was in a session with a client, so she chose to ignore it. “If it’s important, they’ll call back,” she told herself. But a gnawing in her stomach told her that this wasn’t just another call. She glanced at the clock. There were still seventeen minutes left in this session. She heard the phone ring in the outer office. Maggie forced her attention back to what her client was saying about his relationship with his wife. At least she hoped she heard him right. “How did you feel about that?” she asked almost by rote as she wrote notes onto her legal pad. Did he answer her?
