“From what I’ve been able to read into this, it had nothing to do with the drug case. Cameron busted Janet Lacey several years ago on an armed felony and also wounded her sister, who was crippled by Cam’s bullet. So this looks like a revenge thing.”
“You really think we should leave her there?”
Maggie thought it over carefully. “Yes, I do. At least for now. If we pulled her, everyone would know she was the one who blew the whistle. And we still don’t know who’s on the top, or more specifically, who’s outside. That would make her a sitting target. She’s probably in a better situation now to find out who’s controlling this. Is the bust still on for today?”
“Yes. We already have our people in place.”
