She furiously typed on her phone and drown a shot of tequila. ‘I’m sorry’ ‘Go to hell, you chose a man over me’ ‘Today is my last chance with him, you know how long I’ve been pinning on him.’ ‘f**k you’ Valerie ordered more alcohol and strike up a conversation with the bar attendant, she was thinking of bringing him to her hotel room, she felt someone come behind her she turned to look and locked eyes with a blond hair guy, his face looked a bit flushed and gave her with he thought was a charming smile, but it looked more of he was taking a s**t. Valerie frown a bit, she looked behind him and noticed some group of guys looking towards their direction, ‘So a bet has been placed on my head’ she thought a bit bored. “Hello pretty stranger” he slurred a bit, Valerie gave him a blank stare, she took a large gulp of her alcohol then turn to address him, “Listen sweetheart, I’m not in the mood for your bullshit, I’ve had a long day, so go meet your friends and accept your lost, okay?” The blond hair guy face turned red from the supposed rejection, “Listen lady just pretend with me, I’ll give you five hundred” he whispered showing her his wallet, Valerie stared at him and burst out laughing like she just heard the funniest joke ever. “That won’t do anything for me, like I said leave me alone.” Valerie turned to face the band that was playing. The guy face turned red when he heard his friends laughing, he got embarrassed and angry he was about to place his hand on her shoulder, when he felt the temperature of the room dropped and the whole bar went silent, he turned his head slowly and saw a striking towering man walking towards his direction, the fear in him made him to shakily return back to his seat, his friends already silent looking behind him. Valerie looked back and noticed who was the cause for the sudden quietness, a small smile crossed her face as a wicked thought crossed her mind. Lo and behold in front of her was little Ben uncle, the most eligible bachelor and Forbes seventh richest man in the world, Xavier Cross. His heterochromia eyes landed on her, something in her twitched that she wants him, it might be the alcohol but she wanted him. She had met him twice during a family dinner with the Cross, the only exchange she had with him was Ben introducing her. “Mr Cross how generous of you to grace us mere mortals with your presence.” her voice playful and sexy. His grey and gold eyes landed on her and brim with recognition, he sat on the empty seat close to her. “Miss Woods, how is your evening going?” his voice deep and sexy, Valerie could feel her lady part twitch, it might be her ovulation and the alcohol but she didn’t care. She carefully looked at him and understood why the upper class women went crazy for him. He is literally the representation of two of the deadly sin, Pride and Lust. His ink black hair gelled to the back, his eyes were full of intelligence and a frost look you won’t know when he strike, hence the nickname viper or the devil’s hand in the business world. His chiseled jaw clenched as he gulped a glass of whiskey, her eyes watched his Adams apple jumped, her breath hitched a bit, her eyes when to his pale pink plump lips and noticed a drop of whiskey there and his tongue licked it off and immediately she was thirsty, but for something else. She went back to looking and met his eyes and noticed the warning look on them, she met his gaze boldly and gave him a smirk, he looked a bit taken back and tapped the bar stand with his fingers. “Seen enough?” Valerie heart skipped a couple of beats, “not really?” she flirted. “You’re my nephew’s fiancee” he stated. Valerie scowl when she heard Ben’s name, “it ended five hours ago” she replied calmly, Xavier looked at her for a moment before looking away and said nothing but kept drinking, Valerie noticed the little dark circles under his eyes, stress radiating from him. Then she remembered Ben telling her how the elders in the family were bothering him to get married and arranging blind dates for him and how smug Ben looked when he realize he will be getting married before his very powerful uncle. ‘At least he was useful for the information’ “I can help you” Valerie said looking at Xavier with a smile on her face but her eyes were calculating. Xavier looked sat her, his face still blank. “Help me with what?” Valerie rolled her eyes at him playing dumb, “Marriage, you marry me and I’ll help you with the elders.” Xavier chuckled at her audacity, “And why do you think I’ll accept or they will accept when you’ve been engaged to my nephew.” Valerie boldly invaded his space and placed her hand on his thigh she felt him stiffen, “Cause I hold the most shares in my family company and I’m very qualify in every aspect.” Xavier locked eyes with Valerie bright green cat eyes as they twinkle with a spark mischief, and he could sense the honesty in her words. He understood where she was coming from with her shares, it will be good for his company since his company wasn’t under the family’s name and the family might try to suppress him, but with her shares if she partner with his company that will be a whole lot. Even if he was one of the richest on Forbes list when it comes to absolute power it will be stressful trying to shake off his scheming family. But still. “You were my nephew fiancee, that’s a scandal.” “A good scandal, helps with the attention for your new project and besides I have a gift for my father and Ben.” Valerie ran her fingers on his thigh teasingly, she felt his whole body tense up and gave a little giggle. “Did he cheat?” “Yes” “Do you have a video” “Yes, wow Mr Cross you’re so smart.” Xavier looked at her in turn she flashed him a harmless smile. “You see I need to get my family off my back and get something that was stolen from me, and I need someone powerful, and you just happen to tick every box.” Xavier sigh and removed the hand that was almost closed to his d**k, “Miss Woods I’m not what you’re looking for.” his tone firm and direct, Valerie smile didn’t fall she took his drink from his hand and drank from it, she stood up and slip her room number into his breast pocket, and lean down to his ear, “If you change your mind” she whispered and bit his ear teasingly, without a backless glance to sashayed her way out of the bar. She was sure no one has ever come on strong to him like this, she loved the surprised look on his face. She didn’t know if he will come, but she wished he did.
