The Abused

Chapter 10

Aaron’s POV

We had a few small scares on the flight, however Elder Bret pulled her back to stable each time. We are now heading to my pack just about 30 minutes out now. I decided to go ahead mind linked my parents,

“We are almost home.”

I could almost see my mom physically jumping with excitement when my father mind linked me back.

“Okay son, we will meet you outside the pack hospital; a private room is prepared and ready for her.”

I sighed thankfully my dad has always been an amazing father and Alpha. He never minds taking over during the times I have to leave on any occasion.

Finally we were pulling up into the pack grounds, and I had an excited nervous feeling in my stomach. On the other hand my heart was full of dread. This is not how I wanted to bring my mate to my pack. I wanted it to be perfect, and this is far from perfect it’s almost a nightmare I can’t escape. We parked near the front door of my pack hospital. I stepped out of my vehicle, and nodded at my parents. They knew I was going to see that my mate is settled in the hospital before we get down to any other business. Elder Bret stayed behind to speak with my father and mother. My head pack doctor started ordering everyone around as soon as he stepped back into the hospital. He knew he had to save his Luna. I allowed him to take control and soon they got her settled in. I decided to set with her for a moment. I could have sworn for a second I felt her squeeze my hand. I prayed that meant she was waking up. I immediately looked at the doctor.

“Alpha, Please don’t get any false hope. That could have easily been a muscle spasm from not being used in a few days. Later this afternoon we are planning on rolling her to her side, so she does not develop bed sores. Please except more of those once we do that.” I nodded with understanding; he knew how bad off she was. He also knew if Elder Bret couldn’t heal her than there isn’t much more we could do besides keeping her comfortable. I set with her praying she’d squeeze my hand again, but that never happened. I realized an hour has passed, and I’m sure my mom and dad are wanting to see me. Before I left I decided I’d speak to her.

“Hey darlin’, it’s me. I made a decision to get you out of that pack. When you wake up you can choose you can go back, however I pray you don’t. I’ve got to go see my parents, then I will be back immediately after. Oh and one last thing, Danielle, I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you; I failed you. If you could just wake up for me I will spend the rest of my life making up for failing you, just please come back to me.” With my final words I realized I had a stream of tears coming down my face as they fell onto her hand and her bed. I closed the distance between us, and gently kissed her on her cheek. The sparks I felt the first night was barely there. Just like her life it was hanging on a thread. I just sighed, and walked towards her door. I looked back once more before I headed to my parents. I found the doctor charting right next to her room.

“Doctor, I would like you or one of the nurses of your choosing to always keep a watch on her.”

“Absolutely Alpha. Also I am having a couch with a sleeper put in today, so you will be better equipped to stay if you so choose.”

“Thank you. Thank you for everything.”

He nodded and went on his way. I walked out to find my dad and Elder Bret in deep conversation. My mom noticed I was walking up, and smiled and opened her arms for a hug. I sighed and went to hug her she smiled instantly and whispered

“You know you will always be my baby boy. Now that mate of yours is absolutely beautiful, and I am positive she’s got an amazing personality also. I cannot wait until she wakes up.” I tried to smile a half smile when Elder Bret spoke up.

“If the Moon Goddess decides she should awaken.” Both of my parents look at him in a confused expression.

“Maybe this is a conversation for my office”

Everyone nods and heads toward the pack house. Once we are in I closed the door. I set behind the desk while everyone else took a set as well.

“I’m sure you both are curious, and have many questions. I will explain everything I saw and I know.” Elder Bret said as they both nod in agreement.

“As you know when you called I went straight to Blue Moon Pack. I found Aaron sitting next to his mate. When I first saw her I knew immediately I may or may not be able to help her. When I started a vision came to me almost instantly. I saw Danielle and the Moon Goddess together. I felt dread thinking I was to late when I realized that The Moon Goddess was not taking her she was deciding rather or not to take her. That was it. Aaron and I have talked about everything and he understands the chances. The only other time I’ve seen the Moon Goddess take this long with decisions is with me.” When he said that I stared at him with complete and utter shock.

“Wait, hold on you mean...” I said unable to find words.

“Yes Aaron. I know there is much you didn’t know about my past, and I felt like the timing of telling you at Blue Moon would not be good. I was not born this way; I was with the Moon Goddess too once before. She didn’t just allow me to live; she chose me to bare one of her gifts. I have a deep feeling in my gut she may decide the same for your mate.”
