“You’re brooding.” Rion glanced over at his wife, who was keenly watching him. They were on their way over to Joberiah’s to pick up Kerr before heading home. Despite the semidarkness, he could see the smug grin on Annie’s face. “I have the right to brood. Comes with the job.” Annie snorted. “If you’re brooding about the job, I’d agree with you. But I know the difference between a job brood and a pouting brood. And you, sir, are pouting.” She gave him a hard nudge against his side, but he barely moved.
