She knew Rion remained by himself in the living room long after she got Kerr to sleep. She had no recollection of when he finally came to bed himself, nor was she aware of when he got up and left way before first sunrise. She was in the kitchen, savoring a cup of brolade and waiting for Kerr to awaken on his own when Chloe walked into the kitchen and poured herself some of the hot drink from the pot on top of the cooker.
