Not dramatically, a secure email from his lawyer with a subject line that said simply: Ready. Call me.
Daniel called from his car, parked outside his building, before he'd gone up to the office.
His lawyer talked for eleven minutes.
Daniel listened without interrupting, which his lawyer had once told him was his most useful quality in a legal context and his least common quality everywhere else.
When the lawyer finished, Daniel said, "Is it enough?"
"It's more than enough," his lawyer said. "The medical records access is documented and traceable. The journalist who received the information has confirmed the source in writing she pulled out when she understood what she'd been given and how it was obtained. She's cooperating."
