I Kissed Dating Goodbye

I'm surrounded with lovers

Ladies holding flowers

Tangled long fingers

Even kisses behind the covers.

A friend told me to date again

'Cause I no longer look in pain

A smile was my only reply

'Cause I kissed dating goodbye.

Kissed it goodbye when you let go of my hand

On my feet, I was forced to stand

Broken glasses under my feet

Such pain I found hard to beat.

But these feet keep betraying me

They walk back to him with glee

A circumstance I wished to decry

Realizing, I kissed dating goodbye.

Kissed it goodbye when he talked about her

Narrating how perfect she is as a lover

Elegant, honest, sweet and kind

A gem so rare to find.

Is she that worthy to keep?

Her name makes his voice so sweet

Though my heart wants to deny

I insist, I kissed dating goodbye.

Kissed it goodbye when he fell for her

And promised to love her forever

I'm genuinely happy for him

But my heart is bleeding with grim.

He's the love not meant for me

A gruesome and sad reality

But my right prince will soon come by

For now, I'll kiss dating godbye.
